Rodeway Inn, Sioux Falls SD
Don't believe the website on this one -- neither of our rooms were "renovated" although the site says it's being done; very basic/budget room, old decor, ancient mattress, dim lighting, a wall-outlet didn't work at all -- so naturally the lamp was no good -- so much for sitting & reading at the the little table in our room. Also very DECEITFUL advertising about the HOT TUB -- it's been broken for YEARS but still promoted on the website. Pool is small but OK. Parking lot has CRATER pot-holes & not well lighted and was filthy (it's behind a small diner & gas station). After-labor day rate was affordable, but the outdoor sign on the building had a lower price than what we booked via choicehotels.com link, and they DID lower it for us, after I fussed.
Some nice things -- a computer in the lobby for all to share (internet access for those of us who don't have laptops), and the continental breakfast was GREAT!! Wafflemaker, cold cereals/oatmeal pkts, juices & MILK, pastries & fruit, and on Saturday a.m. someone (employee?) brought in a crockpot with white-sausage gravy & biscuits. YUM!
All in all we used this as a stop-over between our home & trip to Mt. Rushmore SD, and really wanted a continental bkfst vs. having to buy & eat fast-food on the road. My opinion: the breakfast didn't fully redeem the place. Go somewhere else.
