Let's face it, anywhere you go in the Rocky Mountains, you'll be able to see some spectacular scenery --- there's beauty throughout the range. One of the most spectacular drives you can do is to drive through Rocky Mountain National Park, just a short ways northwest of Boulder. US 34 is the road that cuts through heart of the park, and its known on the park maps as "Trail Ridge Road". Ridge is right too, since the road doesn't take the "easy way" through low-lying valleys, it skirts the mountain tops with long stretches above the tree line, giving you the chance to freeze your tookus off getting... review »

I'm a park guy, and Rocky Mountain National ranks right up there at the top!This high landscape includes a ton of majestic mountain peaks over 12,000 feet with Longs Peak one of the more well-known "fourteeners".  Aside from the great peaks, there's an abundance of lakes, rivers and forested valleys.  Your kids will love the wildlife.  Bighorn sheep, elk, moose and mule deer all inhabit the park making Rocky Mountain National one of the country's top wildlife watching destinations.  And whether you want to take a casual stroll or take on a more strenuous hike, there are hundreds of miles...
