Great School, Bad Location

a serious student, a good test taker

RIT is a great school for tech-majors, interpreters, and d/Deaf students. They provide phenomenal support services and offer a large variety of classes. Having 8 colleges means you can pursue more interests than you might be able to at a more specialized university.

Admittedly, Rochester NY is not the greatest setting in the world - lots of snow, rain, and overcast days with not a lot to do. If you're looking for a party school, RIT probably isn't your best bet though the Greeks through some good bashes.

Serious students and those looking for solid internships will do well here.

When I first moved to Rochester, I looked into getting information from all the schools in the area. One of them was Rochester Business Institute (it operates under another name now that I cannot recall). After my initial request for information, I was bombarded with email, snail mail and phone calls for about a year afterwards. I called to complain and I was patched through to the president's voicemail, and left all of my information and that I wanted all correspondance to cease.
