Road Runner RRMA20 Guitar Case —

Several years ago, I built an acoustic guitar. Although it's not perfect, I'm still proud of the way it sounds and that I was somehow able to build it. However, after a while it became obvious that it needed a case to protect it, especially if I ever took it anywhere.

I looked around at the local music stores and ended up buying a Road Runner RRMA20 guitar case from a Guitar Center store for $80.

What it is

The Road Runner RRMA20 guitar case fits a standard "dreadnaught" size acoustic guitar, which is a very popular size. I do not know if Road Runner makes cases in other sizes but I imagine the company has a line with various sizes.

The RRMA20 case is lined with thich green plush that cushions the guitar softly. The shell of the case is hard plastic with the edges trimmed in aluminum. There are four metal latches to clamp the case closed and the center of the case has a storage compartment for the accessories that every guitar player needs. Once the case is closed, there's a plastic handle on top for easy carrying.

Using it

The Road Runner RRMA20 guitar case impresses me. Its plastic shell is tough, if a little heavy. The plush interior is soft and coddling, the best of any guitar case I've seen. The internal storage compartment is roomy and also plush-lined. The two halves of the case close properly and the latches are easy to latch. Once the Road Runner RRMA20 guitar case is latched closed, there is no sloppiness or play in the latches -- everything is closed firmly.

When I haul it, the Road Runner RRMA20 guitar case is well balanced and mostly easy to carry. However, it does feel a pound or two heavier than other hard-shell guitar cases. I seldom have far to carry it and I appreciate the extra protection the weight implies.

My overall impression is that the Road Runner RRMA20 guitar case is tough, strong and gentle on my guitar. That is an excellent combination.

Summary

The Road Runner RRMA20 guitar case is an excellent guitar case. Considering the strength and quality of this case, the price was very good.

I recommend the Road Runner RRMA20 acoustic guitar case.
