Comments about Rival SCVP603 6-Quart Slow Cooker:
This is a crock-pot that gets the job done and offers a variety of settings, but it has some drawbacks. Overcooks easily, leaving burnt residue on the sides. Ours has a crack down the middle after more than five years of use. But it's easy to transport. Not hard to clean. And I like that the crock is removable from the cooking element for cleaning.
Time to Heat
Usually food is done cooking much quicker than expected, which is good in some cases and bad in others. I have overcooked many meals because of the temperature settings.
Because it heats so quickly, I often find burnt residue along the sides and find that the estimated cooking time is less than I expected. Has a great "warming" function, though, that offers the flexibility of keeping the food hot but not continuing to cook it.
Ease of Cleaning
The removable crock is good for cleaning so that it can be submersed in water. But because of the often-burnt performance, cleaning can be difficult.
Ease of Use
Simple touch-pad controls for various hours and temperatures of cooking are not hard to understand.
We discovered a crack down the center of ours not long ago and are somewhat disappointed that it hasn't held up longer.
