This Ice cream amker was a suprise just something that my family got as a fun thing.  The ice cream makers of the past were heavy and required rock salt alot of times.  The Rival ice cream maker is easy you can make ice cream in about 20 minutes.  The whole system comes with recipes for chocolate ,vanilla ,rocky raod and cookies and cream.  The ice cream freezes right in the canister.  This is a little different maker because it makes 1 1/2 quarts instead of 2 and so on.  The instructions are easy and you do not havre to go way out of your way to find crazy ingredients to have some fun ice cream.  The machine and system are small and the clean up is not bad.  The system comes with only one canister,  in case you were wondering .  It would be nice if it came with two canisters in the system so that you can make 2 types of ice cream at one time.  The ice cream itself is totally under your control.. The instructions are right there in the box just follow them and it will taste pretty good.  GOOD LUCK

The rival ice cream maker is quick and efficient and the ice cream is marvelous. I am a busy mom with not a lot of time and to be able to make quick and delicous ice cream in 20 min tops is great. I can control what I put in so that I am giving my family a treat that is still wholesome. I would buy another one in a heart beat if mine ever breaks down!

If you'd like fast, delicious ice-cream, then the **Rival 2 quart ice cream maker **is for you!  It is nothing to make a delicious, smooth, cool treat.  You can even double the recipe to make more, if you have many people to feed.  Just be prepared, though....it takes much longer for the ice cream to freeze.  With this ice cream maker, you can create all different types of ice cream.  I created some dairy free low calorie ice cream for my daughter who is severely allergic to milk.  The ice cream was delicious, and she was so happy that we had made the ice cream ourselves.  This ice-cream maker is portable, and you can take it ANYWHERE.  I took it to my school, and my class and I made ice-cream together.  They all enjoyed it and said it was the BEST ice-cream they'd ever tasted.  It was really simple.  All it takes is 1 can eagle brand milk, 2 tablespoons vanilla, and 4 cups half and half.  That's it!!  It took a long time because we doubled it.  However, if you don't, it should only take about a couple of hours or so.  Enjoy!!

I purchased the rival ice cream maker because my other one wore out. I assumed that it would be as good as the old one but by no means it wasnt. Its loud and the lid will not stay on the base. I contacted Rival but they never contacted me back about this sitution. SO i tossed it and bought another new one from Rival just for the purpose of making homemade icecream for my family. It worked very well the first 3 times I used it..Then low and behold it started doing the same thing as the one I tossed. The motor was LOUD. The motor kept coming off the  base, I then put it back in the box and returned it to the store where I bought it and they wouldnt accept it back..I then contacted Rival again and to this very day I have not heard a word from them about it, Im still in need of an ice cream maker.I will try and contact rival once more before I toss this one out as well. I also had the receipt and that still didnt do anygood.
