Cheaper to buy ice cream by the pint

The ice cream maker has a great counrty kitchen look, and would be great to leave out on a counter.  The process to make ice cream take quite a bit of time and requires alot of attention.  The costs of ice, salt, milk,flavorings, fruit etc, far exceed the cost of buying several pints of Ben and Jerry's.   The unit is loud and sort of virbated its way across the counter top.  Finally you will need a full size freezer to keep the final product.
