Rival Extra Large Deep Fryer Review

The Rival deep fryer is the first one that I have ever owned. So far, I am very satisfied with it. It has an adjustable heat setting and timer. The timer is easy to set and works very well. I really enjoy this feature because it prevents me from burning my food! You are able to lift and lower the tray without opening the lid. I have found that the filtration system does not really let out a lot of the steam. It's easier to lift the tray, give it a few seconds to cool off, and then open the lid. This prevents the hot steam from rising up into your face. It does tend to smell a lot when the grease gets hot, but I have come to expect this from fryers.I just keep it near the fan over the stove and it works fine! The basket is large enough to accomodate food for 4 people, but the overall fryer does not take up too much room on the counter. The magnetic plug-in keeps the fryer safe from catching on-fire when I do not want it plugged up. This is very important when grease is involved! It heats up very quickly and is usually cool to the touch on the top, as long as you do not touch the steam vents. This has been a great fryer so far, although it could use a few improvements in some areas!
