Rival Deep Fryer Model # CF 106 —

This is the first deep fryer that I've used in years, and I really enjoy it.  The design of the Rival deep fryer is very compact and sleek looking.  This particular model is white with a one liter capacity, which is just the right size for us.  On the rare occasion that I deep fry anything, I don't do that much at a time, so it is senseless for me to have a large capacity fryer that I'll have to find room to store.  The Rival CF 106 deep fryer is the perfect size for us.

This fryer has Cool Touch housing, which means the outside of the fryer doesn't get hot.  If you have little ones in the house, you'll know how important a feature like this can be.  Or, if you're clumsy like I am, you'll also appreciate the safety of the cool touch because it means you wont burn yourself on the outside of the fryer!

There is an adjustable thermostat, which will reach a maximum temperature of 375 degrees.  There is also a red light that comes on when it's plugged in, and a green light that illuminates when the fryer has reached the desired temperature.  No more asking, "Do you think the grease is hot enough?"

The lid closes, and locks into place, so that you can cook with it down to prevent grease splatter.  It's also nice to have a locking lid for storage purposes.  The lid also has a filtered area that helps to minimize odors from being released from the fryer.  And it really works!  The lid also is easily removable if you prefer to have it off.

The way the electrical cord is designed is pretty unique.  The cord doesn't "snap" into anything in the fryer.  How it works is, it connects magnetically to the fryer so that it can be released immediately, if needed.  This design is called SURE RELEASE, and while I was concerned that it would become disconnected easily during cooking, it didn't, and stayed firmly attached until I was ready for it to come unplugged.

I purchased my deep fryer at Kmart for less that $ 25.00.  For that price, I received the fryer, instructional booklet with recipe ideas, and a plastic slotted spoon.  It also comes with a One Year Limited Warranty. After seeing how well the deep fryer worked, I would eagerly recommend it.   The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because there isn't a removable basket.  However, it's still a very good working small appliance.

This sounds really nice and safe. I have a large kettle deep fryer and I burned myself once by touching the edge. Yours also looks nicer than mine ;+( ~Gigi
