After several weeks of researching different deep fryers, including professional equipment gas and electric, I found this unit is the perfect size for a family of 4. Although my boys are 8 months and 10 years old, for the time being this Fryer by Rival stands up to every test I have given it.

From home made french fries to tender fish to hush puppies and chicken to veggies and fried pies, each comes out perfect every time.

The timer could be a little louder, but that is the only thing I would change.

Oh, how we love this fryer!  Even though I consider myself an accomplished cook, I've never really been comfortable frying foods.  It seems hard to get the temp just right, oil splatters all over, and I always really worry about one of the children coming along and getting splattered.
