My NEW Love

5

Overall this Deep Fryer is very high quality for a fair price (in my opinion). It heats up quick and has many settings and you can cook things other than French fries, chicken, or anything that you usually use a deep fryer for. My favorite thing to generally cook are funnel cakes and fried tilapia. Performance Performance wise the Rival is a fast but very efficient way to cook. Unlike other deep fryer I've used you the Rival doesn't burn food that are frozen. Ease of Use The Rival is real easy to use. Durability The durability is very good. The only question I have is how long will this product last? Because if it's anything like my last deep fryer which had sort of a shortage then I'm not going to be entirely happy. Ease of Cleaning Cleaning is no problem at all. Its quick, easy, and if you wash it after each use then food won't be hard to scrape off.

Makes Frying a breeze but cleaning not so much.

I was giving one of these little fryers for a Christmas gift. I had been using a Fry Daddy fryer that just wasn't big enough for the large fry jobs I was doing. This fryer is very simple to use. It heats up quickly, has lights to tell you when it is ready for use, and the dials tell you what temperatures you need for what foods. The size is prefect for frying anything for batches of French fries to larger fish fillets. It does the job it was meant to do. It isn't too bad to look at either, if you have room on the counter to store it. I don't so that isn't a plus for me. The only issue I have with this lovely device is that it is super hard to clean. There are so many nooks and crannies that oil and grease get into. There isn't a real simple way to pull this apart and get everything clean like it should be. Not sure if any fryer, beside my old Fry Daddy, is super easy to clean. This one just seems harder than it should be to clean. Performance It heats oil up very quickly and it lets you know when you need to leave it be to get it back to temperature after frying each batch. I love that fact. Too many people forget when you fry foods that the oil temp drops. This tells you when you can add in a batch and when you should take it out. LOVE the basket and how the handle folds down and out of the way when not in use. Ease of Use You can't beat just having to turn a knob or two to get this fryer running. My 6 year old knows how to get it turned out, not that I let him fry, but he knows what needs to be done to turn it on. Durability I have put my fryer through a lot. I have to store it on a shelf, so lots of lifting is done with this thing. I have never had any trouble with things breaking or falling apart. So, there is no way I could give it anything other than a five. Ease of Cleaning I have only had a Fry Daddy, which is super easy to clean, but this thing seems like it was made so that cleaning it was hard. It is it's only flaw. There are so many small nooks and crannies that oil gets into. It is just super hard to get everything looking and feeling clean. It would take hours with a toothbrush before I would feel mine was completely and totally grease free.

Got this as a gift and would definitely not recommend buying it

I got this Rival deep fryer as a wedding gift and I don't like it at all. It's hard to use, hard to clean, and doesn't even fry foods well. I had to go out and buy myself a different fryer because I didn't want to deal with all the trouble that came with this one. Performance Sometimes it would fry your foods well and sometimes it would over-fry or under-fry. It's not very reliable. You could set it the same exact way each time, but your food would always come out fried differently. Ease of Use It looks like there's a lot of functions, but you don't really need all that. That's why it was annoying to have to read the manual just to figure out how to use it on the basic settings. Durability It didn't break down on me or anything so that's why I'm saying the durability is satisfactory. I didn't give it a change to break...I just went out and bought myself a different one. Ease of Cleaning I didn't like cleaning this fryer at all. It was a bit difficult to remove the parts and it seemed like the oil didn't come off as well on the surfaces both inside and out.

A decent fryer for the price

My wife and I have this fryer and it is decent as fryers go bit we have a few issues with it. One issue is the lid pops up while food is inside and that is frustrating. Also it takes a while to heat up the oil and clean up is a pain. While wiping oil off the front I noticed the white letters/type were wiping off as well so be careful.

This Rival Deep Fryer makes frying foods a breeze!

As much as I love to make fried foods, I thought this product would be a great asset to my kitchen. I really loved it in the beginning. It heats the oil rather quickly, it has a large tank and basket and the lid keeps the oil from splashing and prevents burns. Now for the not so great. The cord has a magnetic connector that attaches to the fryer, which is a great safety feature, but also becomes kind of a hassle because it doesn't always stay hooked in. The lid has a spring that assists the lid in opening, but the little "catch" sometimes doesn't work properly and you have to pry the lid open. The unit is rather difficult to clean and I try to clean it after every use. The oil gets into areas where it is almost impossible to clean, I have had to use toothpicks in some areas just to get the hardened oil out. The basket is proabably the best design of the whole unit. It is rectangular shaped, unlike other round ones I have owned, which makes it easier to cook foods such as corndogs. Overall, the unit is pretty cheaply priced and I think it is a good value for what you get.

Although the picture looks very enticing, beware! The minute that I got this fryer home I couldn't wait to get it open. Well I decided to fry some chicken in it and everything started off ok until after the 2nd batch. The lid kept popping up and no matter what I tried it just would'nt stay down. So I decided to move it a little because I thought that it was not getting enough circulation for the steam to escape while it was on the counter and as soon as I did that the plug fell out! Needless to say I took it back to Wal- mart the very next day and told them it was defective.

Family Favorite Fryer

The Rival CZF60 Deep fryer is definitely one of my family's favorite kithcen applicances. Since purchasing this fryer, we have become accostume to one of our favorite restuarant appetizers at home, bacon cheese fries. The fryer is so easy to use, the we have this favorite every Sunday, if not more often. The construction of the basket is fabulous, the way you can raise the basket up to put in your food item and then lower it into the grease to avoid splatters. The temperature controls work really well and the timer is a great added convience for those times with the little ones distract you from your cooking. I also like how the unit dis-assembles for cleaning. Rival really out did themselves on this applicance. My family highly recommends it. The price is excellent for the quality received.

Rival deep fryer - not too good but not too bad.

With my littles ones always insisting on fried stuff, we purchased this deep fryer so that we dont have to run out very often. It gave a good start off and we experimented all sorts of fried stuff like french fries, onions rings and strips and so on. All of them used to come out real crunchy and they look so awesome that you immediately start feeling hungry. The oil heats up real fast and it was an easy to go but just like any other user, I also had the problem of the plug which would never fix with one try and now that I got used to it, it is sort of ok. But after using for few months, I notice that the lid hardly stays and sometime when I press the button, it does not come off. Makes it a little scary, but somehow I have started feeling the difference in its performance since I bought it and as of now.

Deepr Fryer is great!

The Rival Deep Fryer is awesome!  I love fried foods, and this little guy makes it easy to have delicious fried foods at home.  I know you can make cheese sticks, french fries, and other things in the oven or even in soem oil on the stove, but nothing makes them taste better than deep frying them.  The Rival deep fryer makes it easy to do.  First of all, it heats the oil quickly.  Secondly, and maybe this is the best feature, the metal pot that holds the oil comes out for easy cleaning.  While some people have complained that it's difficult to clean, I would disagree.  The main things that need cleaning are the basket and the bin that holds the oil and those two things come out and can be cleaned easily.  Yes, the actual unit gets grimy, but it's a deep fryer, so what do you expect?  I guess that stuff would be tough to clean, but you know what you're getting in to.  This thing makes terrific food and it worth the money!

My whole family loves the Rival CAF630 Deep Fryer

4

Yes before the question is asked I do know how unhealthy deep fried foods can be. I fully understand that. However just a little but of fried foods every now and then is not so bad, well not to me anyways. Just like everything else, you must eat fried foods in moderation. I absolutely love my Rival CZF630 Deep Fryer. It has to be one of my most favorite appliances. It fries all the foods so well and to the shock of some people this deep fryer is actually easier to clean than most out there on the market today, unless you can afford to buy one that is way up there in price. This deep fryer is easy to use, cooks foods perfectly, and it also looks great. And a great plus is that it is also dishwasher safe, except for the heating element. You can store the oil in the fryer or you can empty the oil into a bottle and wash the pan. Now you do not have to deal with anymore stinky crumbs in the bottom. The oil heats up in about ten to twelve minutes. Fries are crispy, onion rings are crispy, hush puppies are golden on the outside and fluffily on the inside, etc. And you can set the basket up and let the oil drain from the food. It is cool to the touch so safe for kids. It has a timer but I never really use it.
