Most HelpfulI really wanted to like this. When I got this as a gift I was so excited. The more I used it my excitement faded. First of all it's way too hot even on low. All of my previous crock pots had low settings that were truly low...around 175 degrees. This low setting has to be about 350 degrees. ...
review »I received the Rival 38601 SmartPot CrockPot as a Christmas present from an aunt who knew I was looking for a larger slow cooker than the one I had. My penchant for overflowing my 4.5 quart CrockPot is well-known. Although I had high hopes for this product, I must say that it has been disappointing and a bit dangerous.
This unit is programmable and easy to use. You simply select "low" or "high" power and then select the number of hours that you want it to cook for. When that amount of time has elapsed, the Rival SmartPot will automatically switch over to the "keep warm" setting to keep your...
review »Rival Crock Pot- Smart Pot 6-quart 38601
I am a huge fan of crock pot cooking as I am a busy mom of 2 and work outside the home. Crock pot cooking saves me on the days that I need a home cooked meal ready when I get home in the evenings too tired to start from scratch.
I received my first Rival Smart Pot as a gift and I was very excited as it was programable with time and temperature settings. I had to throw away my first meal that I had made in it as I set it on the 8 hour setting and left for work.. when I returned 8 hours later my roast was burned to a crisp. Not only was there no dinner,...
review »In 41 years of marriage, I have had eight different Rival Crock Pots. They are the greatest helper for the busy career woman, wife, mother, or grandmother. As a young newly married teacher, I was thrilled to have a nutritious meal waiting for my husband and me when we got home from busy days at school and the hospital. All of Rival's Crock Pots offer the homemaker a quick prep, healthly method of preparing a delicious meal for the family which smells and tastes like she has labored all day to prepare the feast when she has actually been gone working all day away from home! Rival's...
review »I love the large size of this Rival six quart crockpot. The oval size easily allows me to fit a pot roast, brisket, or a dinner for six. The one drawback is that the crockpot gets very hot, even on the lowest setting. I find that it sometimes burns my sauces and also can cook my meat too fast. The base also gets very hot to the touch. It is very nice that the cooking container separates from the base, which allows for easier cleaning. The glass top easily fits in the dishwasher, which is a nice plus in a busy household. I like the stainless color, which fits in with a modern kitchen...
review »We recently bought a Rival Crock Pot and we just love it. It doesn't make any difference what you are making. Just throw it all in, cover, set and walk away. The delicious smells that waft through the house make you feel like a celebrity chef.
We were concerned that the temperature controls would not be easy or convenient to use, or even worse would not really do what they say. Don't worry; even those of us who are control-challenged can work this easily.
And the cleaning up is so easy. Nothing sticks, really. The inside comes out and with a short soak cleans up perfectly. We once put...
review »The Rival Crock Pot - Smart Pot 6-quart is terrific. I really enjoy hwo I can just leave it on all day and when I come home, my kitchen smells great. It's easy to use and very easy to clean.
We received this as a wedding gift nearly five years ago and it works great still. I have a lot of trust in Rival as it was a favorite brand of my mom's growing up. I just knew I could trust it when we registered for it. We've bought slow cooker recipes books just to see what else we can use this crock pot for.
We've cooked everything from soups, chilli's, and even pulled pork in this puppy. It's...
I love my crockpot!!! I have several of them, all Rival brand. I use my crockpot on a weekly basis. I use it for roasts, soups, sweet / sour kielbasa, meatballs for parties, and I am always looking and trying new recipes for my crockpot. I work full time and when I get home, it's much easier to just make vegetables and side dishes, rather than worry about making an entire meal for my family. If the meat is cooked, it's much quicker to put the rest of the meal together. My family loves the food I create in my crockpot.
