I absolutely love my Crock Pot.  Not only is it red to match my kitchen, but it works wonders on tougher cuts of meat, helping out my budget and having everything ready for me at the end of a long day of work.  It is particularly great for beef, lamb and ork dishes - meats that are less likely to overcook... review »

When we bought our home three years ago, my aunt gave us the Rival 4.5 Quart Slow Cooker as a housewarming gift.  I had never used one before and my mother never used one when I was growing up so it sat down in the basement for almost a year before I decided to try it out.  I think my first attempt...

I have several kinds and sizes of crock pots and this is not my favorite. It cooks very hot and the lid rattles as it cooks. My handle broke off after little use. I contacted Rival and they told me I could buy a new cover but it was as much as a new crock pot.

I thought I would buy a more expensive crock pot when I had some extra money, but this crock pot is perfect.  I like the size and the simple style.

Rival SCR450 4.5 quart slow cooker is perfect for the couple on the go. You can put supper on to cook and go about your day. Then come home and supper is done. We have added pot roast and vegetalbes to our slow cooker then went to work. When we return home, we are able to sit down to a good home cooked meal without taking the time to cook. The key is to use the low settings and plenty of liquid. My preference is beef broth but water will work as well. A drawback is it could be a fire hazard if you do not put enough liquid into the food. The drying out will scorch the food and can cause a fire....

I love my Rival Crock Pot. I use it every week. It is so easy to put food in, and walk away. I find that sometimes I get condensation build up and it bubbles, making the lid rattle a little.  I've had my Rival Crock Pot for 6 years now, and it still works great. The only problem I've had is the handle on the lid broke off, but it snaps back onto the screw. I have to be careful when handleing the lid, but it doesn't affect its use at all.
It is a great size for our family of 4 (2 are toddlers), but some larger roasts are difficult to fit in it.  I will be getting a bigger Rival Crock Pot as the...

The Rival 4.5quart Crock Pot is great for my fiance and I who are always on the Go We just throw everything into it in the morning when were leaving for work and when we get home all we have to do is dish it out and everything is tender and cooked all the way thru . We use our crock pot about 2-3 times every week and we love it! although if you were feeding a family of 4 or more this crock pot might not fit all the goodies in it to feed them all i would recommend choosing a crock pot in a little bigger size but i know for the 2 of us it works very well and we always  have leftovers that we can... review »

This should be a staple in the kitchen of any busy family.  This Rival slow cooker is utilitarian--it gets the job done.  It does not come with a lot of bells and whistles, and makes a great starter slow cooker.  I use mine weekly for basic soups, roasts, and stews.

However, if you are looking for one that is programmable, or with a removable interior pot, then it would be better to check out a more upgraded cooker. Also,  I am finding that our famiy of 5 is starting  to outgrow this slow cooker.  It does not hold enough for me to make a complete meal that will satisy all of us.

My Rival SLow cooker is the best wedding fit ever. We make everything from pot poast to porchops to tortilla soup in it. Even on the low setting it warms quickly. I work long hours so it is nice to have something to throw together adn forget about and have a great meal when I get home! Anyone can use it! Perfect for newly weds! My husband thinks I am a great cook adn I spend virtually no time cooking. He has even gotten into using the crock pot. We try to creat new meals each week! And of course it is the perfect size for Queso for the football games in the fall.

The rival crock pot sure has changed over the years.....I can remember not that long ago having a big 'ol heavy one that didnt come apart to be served. The weight is great and ease to clean up. Also, the clear lid makes it most appealing. sometimes it is most difficult to fit in the meat or other additives, not sooo big for the average family of 5. If I decide on meat then normally I wont have room to add anything else.

I bought my Rival crockpot for about $15.00 at a grocery store & junked my old Presto one and am I glad I did. It looks nice not only on the counter but the crock also looks nice with most place settings on your table. Also, the crock cleans up pretty easily. The size is not too big nor too small. It does leave gray marks in the crock from utensils but, for me that's minor. The appliance itself works great.

I use the Rival Crock Pot - Slow Cooker 4.5 Quart SCR450 2-3 times per week.  I have never had any problems.  I love coming home to and having dinner ready.  I also have the 6 quart size one for get-togethers. I love the fact that I can get my meal ready in the crock the night before, put it in the refrigerator, and take it out and plug it in when I leave for work in the morning.

Well the Rival crock pot is a great addition to my crock family, I have them in all sizes and this one is great making pulled pork, to cheese dips, to stews.  It comes apart for really easy cleaning and I am pretty sure it was dishwasher safe.  The only down side is it is too narrow to do a big pot roast but it is great for about anything else.
