Rival Crock Pot - 5 Quart Programmable Review Summary

Rival Crock Pot – 5 Quart Programmable "lets you set it and forget it." Longer than it is tall, this slow cooker gives you more options for cooking. You don't have to reach down to keep stirring everything to get it to cook evenly. The center of the crock pot is removable for easy cleaning or serving. The Rival slow cooker itself is programmable so you can set it to start and end at certain times, as well as selecting the temperature. "Really easy to use. Really easy to clean." Some reviewers do feel that this cooks at too high of a temperature, and find that things burn, so adjustments need to be made to the times, and caution should be used when leaving it unattended for several hours. Yet overall, reviewers feel "this crock pot slow cooker was made or busy women." Try one of these other Rival Crock Pots if you're worried about unit getting too hot.

I absolutely love this crock pot.  I had on old one that the center didn't come out so you had to be careful of the cord when washing it, and it only had three temp settings.  This Rival crockpot is great because it's longer than it is tall which means it's easier to cook things.  You don't have to...

We purchased the Rival Smart Pot Crockpot a few months ago, and have not been extremely pleased with the results. It seems like this model of crock pot heats up to a higher temperature than any other crock pot that we've ever had or used, even on the lowest setting which is low - 10 hours. I can leave...

So this is my first slow cooker, and I really like it a lot. I love that you can program it and it changes over to "stay warm" after it's finished cooking. However, I do think that it cooks at a hotter temperature than it should. I made a cake in the crock pot that was supposed to cook on low for 8 hours, and it burned after 3!

I REC'D THIS AS A GIFT, AND I LOVE IT. THE DOWNSIDE OF THIS PRODUCT IS THAT IT DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO ACHIEVE MY GOAL OF STARTING DINNER IN THE MORNING & HEADING TO WORK WITHOUT WORRY, AND KNOW I'LL HAVE A GREAT MEAL WHEN I RETURN. IT COOKS TOO HIGH, YOU REALLY CAN'T BE AWAY FROM IT FOR LONG.

The Rivel crock pot cooked the recipes I tried 2 hours less then they called for and it got very hot too fast,I was worried about leaving my home for more then 4 hours with it on,especially if the recipe called for a thick sauce in it.

My rival crock pot is a life savor due to being a mom and on the go to ball games and school events it is very hard to make time to cook a good meal at night but with my rival crock pot I can just about cook anything in the pot and put it on low and return home to serve to the kids.  One feature that I do enjoy is that I can remove the inside pot to store in the fridge after it cools and wipe the outside off and be done with it the convience of that is a real time saver exspecialy when you have been running with the kids all afternoon to events.  The stainless steal feature is what I have and...

I love that I can get everything ready in the morning and throw it in the crockpot.  Choose how long I want it to cook, click a button and I am off.  If you are running behind schedule it automatically switches to the warm setting so the food doesn't get burnt.  I usually cook everything on low so I am not sure if using the high setting would burn the food.  By the time I get home from work dinner is ready!

This is an awesome programmable crock pot.  It is great to be able to set the timer and know that your food will not overcook.

Really easy to use. Really easy to clean.  First time I used it I learned that the food needed to cook for several hours less than called for in this cooker, even at lower temperature.  Once you get the hang of it, though, the timer feature is really handy, because you don't have to worry about turning it off so food doesn't get overdone. Overall, really enjoy using it.

I bought my Rival crock pot a few years ago at Target. It cost under $30, had a removable crock pot, and it also came with a tote bag. I have had it 4 years now, and I really like it. I have made several dishes in it, and they have all turned out fantastic. I like the fact that I can remove the pot inside for easy cleaning. (Too make it even easier to clean, I started purchasing slow cooker bags. All you need to do for clean-up, is remove the bag and your pretty much done!) It also has a see thru glass top, which makes it easy to peek and see how things are cooking!I have made beef stew, pot roast...

I have not been satisfied with this crock pot.  There are several issues with this particular model.  First of all, the stoneware interior tends to have hot spots that will burn the food if it is left unattended.  I have never had this problem before with a crock pot, but have had it happen several times with this model.  Also, something that is even more problematic is the led.  Is is held on by a screw, but it is not tight enough to keep food particles from getting underneath, so to clean it properly you have to remove the top handle of the lid.  Over a short amount of time this wears loose,...

I have a Rival 5quart crockpot.. I use it alot. Can put things in it of a morning and know it will be done when I get home. I use a 5 quart even though it is only my husband and I to cook for. I can get atleast 2 meals out of everything I cook.

Rival is a name I trust and I will always buy. the one I have now has a removeable pot so I can cook in it and then set it on the table. That means less dishes to wash.

Also so using a crockpot means I have dinner ready and therefore if I come home from work tried we won't end up going out to eat. This saves us money and in these times...

I bought my first Rival Crock Pot about five years ago and I use it all of the time. I really like how easy it is and how tender the food always turns out. I now own the smaller five quart model, but I will shortly be investing in the larger ten quart model. I like to make large quantities of food and either freeze what is left over for quick tv style dinners or just remove the ceramic pot from the cooker and refrigerate and finish what I have made throughout the week. Being a single person it is usually very hard to make a good homemade meal because most single people do not like to take the time...

I love my Rival 5-quart Crockpot. It sounds large, but you'd be surprised how versatile this larger-than-standard crockpot is. It works just perfectly for dinner for two (with leftovers of course) or it can easily feed a hungry party of 20 with chili or stew. It's great for soups, spaghetti, macaroni, or any huge-sized side dish you have in mind such as potatoes, corn or vegetables.

If you're cooking for less than 10, this crockpot does run a little hot. I use the warm setting instead of low for slow-cooking of 6 hours or more. But for a big pot of chili - this crockpot makes cooking simple....
