The Cuisinart Frozen Yogurt/Ice Cream Maker is high quality, durable, and easy to use.  The freezer bowls allow you to make homemade ice cream without salt and ice.  You can make premium ice cream or low fat frozen yogurt.  You can also make tasty mixed drinks such as daquiris and margaritas.  We use our ice cream maker at least twice a week and sometimes more.  We hardly ever buy ice cream at the store or at an ice cream shop anymore.   Clean up is minimal, just clean out the freezer bowl, dry it thoroughly, and put it back in the freezer for the next batch!  There are a few downsides: the freezer bowls are small and only hold a small amount of ice cream.  I would recommend getting two freezer bowls.  Once the ice cream is finished a layer is usually frozen to the sides and requires scraping to get off.  The machine is relatively loud when running, but nothing like a blender or food processor.  Overall, this machine is worth purchasing if you like to make homemade ice cream without the hassle of salt and ice and old fashioned recipes.

Sounds easy enough :) Thanks for sharing! I was just wondering if it was complicated but it sounds like very basic ingredients!

It depends on the type of ice cream or yogurt you are making. When we make "healthy" chocolate ice cream, we use 2 C. Fat Free half and half, 1 C. skim milk, 1/2 C. chocolate syrup, and a little sugar. Mix it all together and pour into the frozen bowl that is situated on the ice cream machine. Turn it on and let it run for about 20-25 minutes. Around the 5-minute mark we we add candy or peanut butter! So much for the "healthy" version!
