This can opener can open normal sized cans. It always works and it has never stopped on me before. However, when opening large cans, it is difficult to keep it from tipping over the counter top. Other than that, this can opener works well. It opens all of my cans without such sharp jagged edges and it is easy to remove. The back of it even has a convenient little hole in the bottom to store the plug at after use.
