When our old slow cooker went out my wife sent me to the store to purchase a new one. Our old one was a 5 quart and it just did not seem big enough for our 3 adult and 2 child family. I looked and compared all the crock pots in the store then called my wife for advice. She told me to buy the this 6 quart smart pot, it has a timer on the front. It will cook for a period of time and then turn itself down to warm only. If you want to cook longer you can reset the pot.
