My most-used small appliance
What's not to love about my Rival Crock Pot? I still have my original slow cooker from back in the 70's! It still works great too - but todays models have features, like the removal crock, that make slow cooking even easier.
I've had my 3040-BC model Rival slow cooker for a few years now. It's truly the most used small appliance in my kitchen. I purchased this model because I needed more space than my 1970's model provides, plus I liked the removable crock for easy clean up. I skipped the fancier models that are programmable, or that have more than 2 heat settings and an off position, because I really don't need all that to create terrific, healthful meals.
Most of the time, it's a matter of tossing in meat, veggies and seasonings in the pot and letting it go on low all day. I really appreciate having a flexible "done" time, with dinner being ready when my family is ready. My Rival Crock Pot is not just for roasts though - I can get pretty creative with all sorts of one-pot meal ideas. Soups, stews, and hot dishes of all types can be prepared easily. My Crock Pots have never let me down, and Rival is a trusted name in slow cookers.
