I have both a larger size slow cooker, and a smaller size slow cooker, and of all three, I use this Rival 3-Quart Slow Cooker the most. It is the perfect size for a family of two or three, and since it is just me and my husband, and we are not too fond of leftovers, this crockpot was made for us. It also fits a double batch of buffalo chicken dip for a big party. I had a birthday party for my brother in law, and I used both this crockpot and a smaller one for dips. The smaller one got too hot on the low setting, but this crockpot has three settings in high, low, and warm. The warm setting is so nice for a party or game night that lasts hours when people are snacking the whole night. It is an easy way to be able to put out the food and then relax and enjoy the party instead of having to tend to the food all night. I love the removable ceramic pot that removes from the base for easy cleaning, but usually I use crock pot liners which are cheap and make cleaning even easier.

If you are looking for a no-frills entry-level crockpot for slow cooking, look no further. The Rival 3-Quart Slow Cooker, model 3150, is a workhorse in the kitchen. Its not showy, not flashy, no extra bells or whistles, but at the end of the day, you get consistant results. I've had this crockpot for over 10 years and I have yet to develop hot spots, inconsistant heating or any other problems that tend to plauge crockpots/slow cookers. This machine has three settings- off, low and high. Do not look for timed cooking, a warm setting or anything fancy. In fact, the only thing that sets this slow cooker apart from my first slow cooker is that the insert is removable for washing. Other than that, its as basic as they come. Rival does sell a timer that you can plug your slow cooker into and then select from 4 timed settings- two high and two low settings, and after cooking on one of those settings, the machine will then cycle to a keep warm setting(I have no idea how that works). But if you want to toss chili in the pot and keep it warm while tailgating, or have a small family and don't need to cook in a 6.5 quart slow cooker, this is the machine for you. I have used this at least once a week over the last 10 years- we even bring it camping with us.

If you're short on time or just don't feel like doing the prep, you can purchase pre-cut vegetables to go in the stew or pot roast, but I usually take the time on the weekend to do food prep. There's nothing like a home-cooked meal filling the house with wonderful aroma.This appliance works well with cooking tough cuts of meat with the slow cooking process. Beef stew and pot roast turn out well in the slow cooker. The pull-out compartment makes cleaning up easy. My Rival 3-Quart Slow Cooker has lasted me many years with reliable service. There are many recipes you can get online or special slow cooker cookbooks online or discounted at the bookstore.

There are some recipes that taste better when cooked slowly over an extended amount of time. Pinto beans, beef stew, queso are a few that readily come to mind. It is also great that it can be turned on and for the most part forgotten so that on a busy day, I am not tied to the kitchen. This slow cooker comes apart, so the inside can be placed on the table if desired. Just place a hot pad under it so the table isn't damaged. It also makes it easier to clean. I can put it in the dishwasher and know that it will come out sparkling clean. Rival is a great, economical product. There aren't a lot of bells and whistles on it, just enough to get the job done in a delicious manner. The slow cooker comes with a recipe book and instructions on how to derive the tastiest dishes from your slow cooker. I appreciate the fact that Rival puts out a great appliance at a fair price. I highly recommend this product.

I first owned a Rival crock pot in the early 70's. I loved it. It was so easy to fill it up with a variety of easy recipes, like soup or stew, and come home to dinner. I used that crock pot for over 25 years, until it just stopped working. I recently got a new one as a gift from a friend . It was not a Rival. I used it twice and came home to burnt food that had been on low for less than 4 hours. I went right out the next day and bought a Rival. I love the stainless steel finish. It is so easy to clean. I like the warm setting and the removable crock pot for easy cleaning. It is dishwasher safe and not too heavy, as I have multiple sclerosis and have coordination problems.The 3 qt. size is perfect for a smaller family or a single person. Although I still have my original recipe booklet that was included with my first purchase, I received a new healthier booklet included with my new purchase. It had some great recipe ideas. It is good to know that Rival is still such a great product and has only improved over the years. I would recommend Rival to anyone who wants a great long lasting reliable appliance.

I have had this crockpot for at least 14 years and I love it. I love cooking in it and I love anything that will save time in the kitchen. It is so very handy. You can fix a chili and let it cook on low all day or any type of soup. If you would like to get tough meat a little tender, then put it in the crockpot. My family and I love chicken gizzards, I know a lot of people that do not, one thing about chicken gizzards is that they are a little chewy, well cook them on low all day and they come out nice and tender, just as tender as chicken. This model has the pot that is removable...LOVE that feature, I think every crockpot should have that feature. You have leftovers in it, no problem, just stick it in the fridge. You ate all of it, again, no problem, just take the pot out and wash it. It is very easy to clean, you may from time to time, depending on what you cook, need to let it soak a couple hours, but after that, easy clean up. You can even make homemade applesauce in it. This is not a big crockpot, it is 3 1/2 quarts,I know they make bigger ones, but this is a good one. You can do a lot with it. I would recommend it to my friends. I use it a lot to take different things to church when we have our once a month birthday dinner.

I just love cooking with my Rival Slow cooker. The foods all taste delicious! I have had about three different types in all the years I have been married, and the best one is the one I am using now. We redid our kitchen in a BARN RED color with Cream accents! I found my slow cooker at TARGET store, and it was a great price too!! There are just the two of us in our household, and my husband and I both love the taste of foods that I prepare in the Rival Slow Cooker. It is basically a no-brainer when it comes to preparing a meal! How hard can it be to just put all the ingredients in and turn the knob to the temperature you desire?? We have been married for over 32 years now, and as I said I have had three Rival Slow Cookers, and in the early years they were the round crock type. However, today's models are so much nicer and easier to cook with. The oval shaped ones are the best for doing roasts, chickens, turkey breasts, etc. It is a great little appliance. I think every home should own one!

The Rival 3 Quart Slow cooker is great! When you are a busy mom, whether that be work at home, or work outside of the house, this slow cooker is a must have! Just throw your meat and or veggies in, turn it on and go. In a few hours you have a great, easy meal. The extra great thing is, you can use just about any cut of meat, and it will come out tender and juicy. Also, potatoes come out great too. I have cooked everything from barbque, chicken, roast beef, to spaghetti and meatballs and chili. And soup is just the easiest thing to make. So, rest assured, that in no time, you can serve your family a hearty, nutritious meal, with minimal effort, fuss, or clean up. The only thing I wish, is that I would have gotten a bigger Rival slow cooker since my family always devours every last morsel I cook in it. Maybe I need two?! At the cheap price I got this for, anyone can afford a few. I have had another brands version of a slow cooker, and by far, the Rival slow cookers are just THE BEST!
