I use this oven a lot more that I thought I would

Works great, temperature is accurate, holds food warm for long periods of time and is easy to clean. Negative is storing space at my house. Performance It will hold a a large brisket, or a eighteen plus pound turkey. It will cook it to a beautiful golden brown perfection. It has a removable steel roasting rack that holds the meat off the bottom of the pan allowing the juices to drip down. Probably the success in using this roaster is being able to adjust the temperature from one -hundred and fifty degrees to four hundred and first degrees. Durability I have had this for awhile now and used it more than I thought that I would. It came with a one year warranty. Ease of Cleaning I am amazed how easy it is to clean this roasting pan. The inside pan lifts out for washing and the coating seems to make it almost non sticking. The biggest problem is the size. Ease of Use The outside handles stay cool so even when the unit is on you can pick up the roaster if you need to move it.

The easy way to ensure your roast meat is tender !

I bought mine to use for roasting our Thanksgiving turkey. You don't need to wrap your turkey up. Just place on rack, set the temp and after a few hours it comes out beautiful. No basting involved. The meat is tender and done. It falls off the bone. I have tried it on a spiral ham and that also came out perfect. Best investment I've made this year!

Great roaster!

This is a great roaster! We use it for cooking hams, turkeys, or a large batch of scalloped potatoes! It is wonderful for when we are feeding a large crowd. My brother and sister in-law have one also and they love theirs too. This is a great roaster, definitely worth the investment.

Easy Way to Cook for Crowds

4

I'm very picky about cooking and don't use this roaster for turkeys, since I like to get the nice carmelized crackly outside skin. However, meats are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how you can use these roasters. While I like to roast my turkeys and chickens in the oven, this big roaster is an excellent way to make stock from the leftovers. Throw the carcass, some onions, and celery into the roaster and let it simmer away. Also great for chilis, beans, and just about anything you would otherwise make in a crockpot (when kept at lower temperatures). It's also a great way to slowly cook down apples for sauce or apple butter! My only complaint is that the finish on the inside of the pan comes off almost immediately and as a result can take some serious elbow grease to clean.

Let's Talk Turkey and How Rival Nearly Destroyed My Day

2

Alarm clock was set for 4 AM that Thanksgiving Morning. It was to be a big day for me as I decided to cook for my soon to be in-laws. I love to make holiday dinners. I got up early and washed the thoroughly thawed turkey and dressed it. I than placed the bird in the Rival 18 QT Roaster Oven that I had just purchased. At 4 PM, when the guests had all arrived and were sitting at the table I asked my fiancee to please cut the turkey. It had a beautiful golden brown appearance and smelled delicious. However as he put the knife through we all could see a very red, raw and undercooked bird. Never before had I been so humiliated especially with a house full of hungry guests. I was to learn how very understanding my mother-in-law is while my fiancee offered to take us all out to eat at a restaurant. I still don't understand what went wrong. Mind you, the turkey was roasting for near eleven hours. I would never recommend this device for cooking turkey to anyone unless they have used one for years and know it's secrets. I'm certain that it should have not been so difficult.

I'd Rescue This Baby From A Fire!

I can't tell you how much I love this roaster! Seriously I use it every day . I use it to make bread - I can get loaf pans in it (!), I use it to make meatloaf using those same loaf pans, I take the pan out and use the actual roaster to make casseroles,- I have 7 children so I need a lot of casserole sie lol,. I use it to bake chicken- just lay the pieces down in the pan and voila, turn to 350 and you have dinner! I make brownies in a 9x13 pan in it easily. I find this roaster to be easy to clean- even if I overcook something and it sticks to the bottom- and not unwieldy at all. I simply fill it with soap and water and scrub away! I especially like how this roaster is compact and stores easily on the counter. It looks nice due to the fact it is only two pieces. If for some reason this ever breaks I will definitely buy a new one!!

Roast Away in Rivals 18qt Oven!

5

This roaster oven has been a great addition to my kitchen. This oven is a great way to cook, without heating up the entire kitchen/house. It's also great when cooking oversized items, or large quantities. Most recently, I cooked 4 beef briskets (approx. 12lbs meat) to perfection using this roaster. I had each brisket seasoned and wrapped in multiple layers of foil, then placed in roaster. Add a couple cups of water to the bottom, set at 200 and left overnight. Turned heat up to 275 in the morning, and by lunch had perfectly cooked, ultimately tender brisket for the entire family by noon. Turkey's are no problem with this roaster too. This large roaster, despite it's large size, is easy to cleanup. I just tip one end in the sink, clean with hot soap and a sponge, then rinse (swishing water around). Overall, though not an appliance I use everyday in my kitchen, I have appreciated having this roaster on hand for the large jobs!

Perfect for holiday cooking and entertaining!

If you love to cook, but need more space to cook in, or cooking large items, then the Rival 18 quart roaster oven is just what you need. It's large capacity is perfect for roasting turkeys, hams, and even large roasts with all the trimmings! Perfect for roasting holiday dinners or when you are entertaining. The outer portion is an attractive off-white color with sleek attractive design. The inner portion consists of a removable roasting pan, and a rack that can be placed in the bottom of the roaster. It includes a lid that fits properly and keeps the heat in where it belongs! The handle is easy to grasp and has a clear opening beneath it so that you can peek without lifting the lid off during cooking. Because the inner pan is removable it makes this roaster easy to clean. Although the roaster is large the plug-in cord is just the right length for countertop use without any dangling cords to create a hazard. The outer portion when heated, feels warm to the touch but is not hot. The lid handle also does not heat up for ease of handling it. The temperature control is an easy to read dial located on the front of the pan with an amber light indicator. The rack can be used in the bottom of the roaster to insert a baking pan and use the roaster as you would use a conventional oven. This is ideal when cooking a large amount and need extra oven space (how many times have you had to stagger food needing to be in the oven?). One added advantage is that it does not heat up your house like a conventional oven does, so is perfect for summer baking! My roaster came with a bonus 1 quart Rival slow cooker, perfect for making gravies and sauces. It also included a matching ladle.  This would be a perfect gift to give to someone who does a lot of cooking to ease their time and space in the kitchen.
