I love my Rival Non Stick Electric Skillet. I received this product as a wedding gift several years ago and to be honest didn't use it for quite sometime. But one day, I pulled it out of the box and used it and it is one of the best products ever! First of all, I LOVE that it is non-stick. Most of my pans that I use on the stove are non-stick but they aren't as effective as they once were but this skillet seems to keep up its non-stick reputation. It is super easy to use since all you have to do is plug it in and then you can cook a variety of foods on it. I love cooking deer steak or chicken on mine, but you can really use it for all sorts of foods and recipes. I especially love that clean up is super easy (thank you non-stick!) and I try to keep it handy so I can pull it out and use it when needed!

I needed to replace an old electric skillet and the Rival non stick electric skillet is what I ended up with. It does a good job for some things, but not so good for others. I really like it for making fried chicken. It also works well for french toast. But, using it as a griddle for making pancakes does not work so well. It says it is good as a griddle. It is easy to clean. The top comes off the electric base so you can put it under water. That is a big plus. But, it is hard to heat up. It takes forever and it may be due to the pan not being fixed on the base. Most electric heating appliances will have the light click on or off when it is ready. This does not seem to. I have left mine heating for probably thirty minutes and it seems to get hot, but there is no indication it is ready to go. So, I have to guess. That is a minus for me. It cooks well enough, but the next time I need to  buy an electric skillet I will not be buying a Rival.

Rival S16T Non Stick Electric Skillet is one handy skillet to have on hand.  Easily cleans and very easy to operate. Has cord that is long enough and is not complicated to use. When you have that dish to cook that needs more room than an average skillet can give you , then this is the skillet for you. I lost all of my belongings less than two years ago to fire and i bought this electric skillet and have been very pleased with it, i would of gave it a five star, but i do wish i had got the one with a clear lid you can see thru, for this reason only i gave it four stars instead of five stars, but it is a good working dependable electric skillet. Works well for making fajita's or stews, or any thing, fried chicken , or whatever it is you need to fry.  I dont want to have to have two or more skillets on the stove cooking the same thing and i don't have to since buying this little item for my kitchen.  Makes an excellent gift for anyone on your shopping list, your spouse, your mother, grandmother, daughter , etc etc. They will enjoy recieving this gift.  It is non stick as well. Handy kitchen addition.

We purchased our rival electric skillet a few years ago. One thing that we tried to make it our skillet was pancakes, hashbrowns and we were not happy with the results. We believe that this product is not made for frying foods persay but more for roasts cooking throughout the day about like a crock pot. So we had the wrong perception of how to use this product. We were really looking for a griddle then if pancakes, hashbrowns, as this did not cook these products through evenly. I am very pleased with the rival name as they do stand by their products and have a very excellent customer service policy. We appreciate that very much. We still have our product and I will cook eggs and bacon but still need to try to cook a roast in it throughout the day. The removable pan is very easy to clean and removes so easily for cleanups.

One tool that I have been using in my kitchen for years upon years is a Rival Electric Skillet. I use it to fry chicken breasts as well as minute steaks, always making my gravy right in the electric skillet when I am finished frying. It really is very handy and works just like having an extra cooking surface in your home. I use it lots when I am cooking a big meal and need an extra burner but have none left on the stove. I have made sauces in it, made grilled cheese sandwiches, and love that the temperature is totally adjustable so that I can leave things on warm after they have been cooked, if need be. I think this is something that makes a wonderful gift for a bridal shower or housewarming party. They are not terribly expensive, but work wonders in the kitchen. I know that a Rival electric skillet will be something I will give my daughter when she is ready to move out of the house, as it will surely come in very handy for her.

This Rival Electric Skillet is a great way to cook. It's inexpensive and a great value for the money. It has an adjustable thermostat and a nonstick surface. Nothing I have cooked in this skillet has ever stuck. Food tastes great and looks great when finished. It's big enough to cook a full meal in. And most importantly clean up is a breeze. Just run hot water over the surface and wash as normal. Everything washes right out without having to scrub or scratch it out. I haven't used a skillet on the stove since I purchased my Rival Electric Skillet.

This skillet sounded like my dream electric skillet.  The removable pan is dish washer safe and easy to remove and clean.  The heat settings also met my needs.  It was big enough to fry a family dinner and the non stick was also a great feature.  Why the two rating then?  First the removable pan is a pain to get positioned just right on the heating elements.  It is wobbly if not positioned just right.  I could not figure out how to get all the items browned evenly.  The middle of the skillet was considerably hotter then the outside.  So the ones in the middle would burn and the others would not cook.  Another down fall was the way the pan sloped down towards the outside.  So if you put something in the middle to cook it would spread down to the sides.  I used my previous electric skillet all the time.  This one hardly gets any use as I cannot figure out what I can make in it.  Next time I will stick to the traditional unremovable skillet.  I feel that kind will heat more evenly and consistently.
