Works well for the price

Works great for simple slicing and dicing around the house and meal prep. It stores neatly and is easy to put together and clean. I only use it to mash soft fruits and dice tomatoes and onions. Tried to do carrots and potatoes and it kept getting stuck on them. It was great to make home made baby food with when daughter got a little older, didn't make it entirely smooth, but got thin enough to introduce textures.

Good for small jobs

4

This Rival 1.5 cup chopper is a great little light duty machine. I've used it to quickly mince zucchini, carrots, cooked chicken, ham, and other solids that I want to chop finer than a fast job on a cutting board will get me. Mincing small quantities is really all I've used it for, and for that use it's served me well. Power It's a teeny chopper with small blades that only holds about a cup and a half and it's got one speed. For all of that, it's as powerful as it needs to be. Safety This little chopper is reasonably safe. It would be difficult to accidentally turn it on with your hands anywhere near the blades because it operates on a pulse button located outside of the basin that you have to hold down to keep the blades moving. You have to push each piece into a groove to make them connect in such a way that the machine will even pulse. Also, the blades aren't terribly big in the first place. That's not to say you couldn't conceivably hurt yourself if you're not careful about removing the blades while emptying the basin. Ease of Assembly This is about as easy to assemble as a coffee bean grinder. It's composed of the electric spindle, the basin that clicks over the spindle, the blades that rest inside the basin, and the lid. That's pretty much it. The only thing that's remotely tricky is listening/feeling for the 'click' to let you know each piece is resting in the proper grooves so that the pulse button will work. Ease of Cleaning This unit comes apart easily for cleaning and goes in the dishwasher safely. I don't really recommend trying to hand wash it, as the blades in particular have a little hollow tube where they attach to the spindle. That could be hard to get clean without putting it in the dishwasher. Durability I haven't had any problems with the chopper over the couple years I've had it. I haven't put it to what I would consider to be heavy use though.

Mini chopper mighty power

5

We wanted a little mini chopper like this for small batches of things we use in larger recipes. My wife likes to use this to process onions and boiled eggs for salads and mixing into other things she cooks. This little mini chopper is the perfect size for dicing and adding the various components of you potato salads especially. My son has a very texture based appetite and large chunks of some vegetables and egg tend to leave a lot to be desired for him. For kids such as him this is a great idea for getting them to eat more healthy. Power This little mini chopper has tremendous power for such a small unit. I was pleasently surprised at it's power to be honest. Safety The product seems safe to me I saw no obvious defects to make it unsafe in any way. Ease of Assembly I't a very easy appliance to set set and use. Ease of Cleaning The unit is very easy to clean and store, it's small size makes it easily stored in a drawer, or self. Durability I have only had this chopper for about 4 months and we use it almost daily, we haven't destroyed it yet so it must be pretty tough.

A decent chopper for the price.

We purchased this chopper because it was so inexpensive, so we figured it was worth it even if it didn't last that long. While we did get rid of the chopper for one that took up less space, performance was never an issue while we had it. It processed small amounts of vegetables quickly and easily, which was great for meal prep or making a bit of salsa. I wish it took up a bit less space, by having the base be directly under the bowl, but if you have room for it it's not that big of a deal. This isn't the most durable chopper, but for the price I'd say it's a decent value. If you are in the market for an inexpensive way to make your meal prep easier, this chopper may be for you. Power This chopper is good for small tasks, but I don't think it would handle heavy use or hard jobs like making nut butter. Safety You can't operate this mini chopper without the lid locked into a slot on the base, making it very safe to operate. Ease of Assembly This mini chopper is very easy to assemble, you lock the bowl onto the base, put the blade in, and twist on the lid. Ease of Cleaning This chopper is pretty easy to clean, especially since everything except the base can go in the top rack of the dishwasher. The base doesn't really get dirty, but if it does you can just wipe it down with a moist rag. Durability For this price, this chopper definitely isn't made to last unfortunately. I wouldn't expect one of these to last more than a year of regular use.

This is my second of this brand food chopper and I love it.

I had one of these that was handed down to me from my mother to make baby food. I just bought a new one last week because mine got lost in a move and I loved it so much. I use it for everything, from making baby food to chopping some onions up. Power The Rival 1.5-cup Mini Chopper is so little that the power of it amazes me. This little piece on machinery can chop through everything. Safety I love that the lid snaps into place to keep it safe. I store mine with the lid engaged so that my children cannot get into it. I am never worried that my children will accidentally turn this on because it does not work unless the lid is engaged. Ease of Assembly This by far is simplest food processor I've ever put together. You literally just place the canister onto the drive shaft and place the blade inside and then place the lid on and you are good to go. Ease of Cleaning This is simple to clean because it breaks down so easily. There are not a bunch of nooks that you cannot get into with ease. Durability Between my mother and I we had the first food processor for over five years. I strongly believe it would still be working today if it did not get lost in one of my many moves.

Works great while it lasts.

I bought this product on sale right before Christmas time because for the price of it, it was too good to pass up. First, this is a very small processor, it fits in a lot of small and tight areas and works very well if you have a small amount of open counter space or cabinets to store it in. I have a big food processor that I use for big projects, but this one is nice to have to be able to make small things or small batches of things, I like to use mine to make salsa, it is quick, easy, and convenient and just the right size. It is easy to put this together, take it apart, and to use it, it could not be any simpler than it is. I can use it and wash it out within a few seconds, it is very easy to clean it. My negatives on this product is I am now on my second one, my first one died relatively fast so I got another one as they were still on sale. This second one has seemed to hold up pretty well, so I am hoping that it will continue to last and not burn up like the first one. This is a nice little food processor for the price and if you only need something small or have a small space.

The Rival 1.5-cup Mini Chopper is perfect for my kitchen.

Wow, is the first word that comes to mind when I think of my wonderful Rival 1.5-cup Mini Chopper. This food chopper is so cute and compact. It easily fits on my counter and is so easily accessible. It fits in perfect. This chopper has added so much ease to my cooking experience. I am able to easily chop enough of what ever I am chopping. It easily chops onion, peppers, and it mixes spices and ingredients so well. It blends them perfectly. I use this chopper to make my dry rubs for my meat before I grill it. It taste great. I love that the Rival 1.5-cup Mini Chopper is so easy to operate and to clean. It is so simple a child could use it, although I wouldn't recommend it. I have been using this chopper for a few months now and it has been a breeze. I am able to chop large or small items in this chopper, it is small but is strong and effective in chopping ingredients. I can easily remove the bowl from the chopper and empty the contents wherever I need them. This chopper will always be apart of my kitchen and I will continue to get great use out of it.

Great and small chopper.

I really like this device. I use it for all of my small jobs around the kitchen. It greats for grinding coffee or spices like cinnamon. I also use it for making dips like hummus. Power This small device is surprising powerful. I can use it grind hard cheeses or my coffee beans. It makes them super fine with hesitation. Safety I would say this product is fairly safe. It won't come unless the base is locked in. It can be a little worrisome when cleaning though. The blade can be hard to get out. Ease of Assembly There is nothing to assemble with this product. It comes already put together in the box. I just have to plug it in and it is ready to use. Ease of Cleaning It is easy to clean except for the blade. I get nervous when I have to take it out because it does take a little muscle. Durability I have not had this device for that long but, the time with it has been great. It has always worked when I needed it and shows no signs of breaking so far.

tough little chopper for tough little jobs

5

I love this little chopper and it is a much used item in my kitchen. I know with the push of one little button al my small chopping tasks are done in a few seconds without all the hand cutting and chopping fine work like I used to have to do to get my onions small. It makes my cooking more convenient and can handle most anything I put in it from pureeing softer fruits to chopping up ice and harder vegetables. Power For a little chopper this thing is tough and can handle anything I put in it to chop and in smaller amounts so I don't have too much chopped wasted produce in a big chopper. I know I can depend on this great product that has high power to chop and puree things the way I like them or need for what I am cooking. Safety I like that there are safety features so it is safer for me and my family to use this chopper machine. The lid and the chopper bowl and blade will not engage and work even when plugged in unless it is locked in place where everything needs to be at to work properly. Ease of Assembly quick and easy assembly make it even greater to use this mini chopper. Ease of Cleaning In just a few little moves I can take my chopper apart in three pieces for quick and easy clean up in hot soapy water. Durability I know my little chopper can handle anything because it is made strong and durable and can handle chopping most anything.

Only Chop Certain Things

I have been the owner of rival mini chopper for over two years now. I love to make homemade salsa and guacamole with this mini chopper which turns out perfect every time. This mini chopper is also useful for chopping up onions without you having to shed a tear in the process. Other things I have made with this chopper is oat flour. All you need to do is put old fashion oats or rolled oats into the chopper and turn on, in no time you will have oat flour. I have also milled my own flaxseeds in this chopper as well. The one problem I have with the mini chopper is, whenever I try to chop chickpeas, the blades won't budge. Other than that I am very pleased with this mini chopper. I like the fact rival mini chopper doesn't take up a lot of counter top space. The mini chopper is very easy to clean and since it's small in size, it is easy to store. If you are on a budget and can't afford a 6 cup food processor this is the way to go. You won't be disappointed.
