A great place to stay!

This was a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating from when we registered through our check out insuring that all our needs were met. The room was in a four unit two story cottage each with their own balcony, stocked bar, television(Never used) and air-conditioned. The beds were hard and unconfortable (only negative). The dining experience was one of choices both fare, and venue. The quality was very good. You could eat all day long. This was my first stay at Riu Taino, and was very enjoyable. I went with a group of 7, and found the staff to be very helpful and accomodating. The rooms and hotel in general are kept very well, and staff are very friendly and helpful, and the location was beautiful. For dinner, we made reservations at the steakhouse one night, and it was worth eating someplace other than the buffet...after a while, you can get a little tired of it. Great time for relaxation

This is the first all inclusive place I ever went to and it was great! The place was nicely kept. The beach is beautiful. The staff was more than helpful and even though it is a Spanish speaking country, I did not have that much problem getting things that I needed. The food is ok -- nothing to write home about but speaking to other people who went to other places, it seem better than average. I am a vegetarian and there was more than enough for me to choose from. Overall, I was very satisfied. I loved the liquor dispenser right in the room!!! Everything was perfect here from greeting and check-in to the room to the pool areas and the beach! Everyone was welcoming and friendly...the staff actually recognized guests from day to day making the atmosphere even better! Food in the 3 restaurants I dined was delicious, especially New Year's Eve. I have already recommended Rui Taino to all my friends and co-workers as a delightful winter getaway!

Recreational Attactions: Not Applicable, I took the Monster Trunk Safari into the mountains and the "real" Dominican Republic. Beautiful scenery was enhanced by our guide, who shared interesting...

This was our 4th trip to Punta Cana - Our 3rd stay at the RIU Resort complex. We LOVE the RIU Resort Complex and the Taino is on the beach. The staff is very friendly, upbeat and always very helpful. The ony problem we had was, all 5 hotels in the 'complex' were without hot water for 2 days, nothing was done to "compensate" the guest. Other than that, it was great. The only thing is, if you get sick (my husband had a stomach thing going on and ended up in their "privately held clinic" for 2 days, PLEASE BEWARE - It was a NIGHTMARE beyond belief, and we could not get an interpretator... read full review »

Great quick get-away

Tones of activities are offered throughout the hotel. Activities include: aerobics, salsa lessons, and scuba instructing. One of its best features was spacious enterence to the hotel lobby, and the many coconut trees surrounding the property. At night, a simple walk through out the property which ultimately leads to the beach is extremely romantic for couples. On the outside all the rooms were designed to look like miniture homes, each in differently bright colors. The rooms were fairly comfortable. It offered two adjacent closets and a private balcony.

the Taino was very friendly. all the reviews I read about the resort were true to form, the beach was only seconds from the resort reception area. My checkin to the resort was completed within two minutes upon arriving and checkout took even less time. The beach was very clean and beautiful. there were plenty of activities to be involved in if you didnt want to be laying around we had a great time and everyone was friendly and always with a smile.

Our room was located right off the beach, pool, and dining area. It was very convenient to all the amenties. The room was perfect for all four of us.

Shopping: Short Walk, All of the shops were located in the resort. However, vendors were also available on the resort which was nice because the items were much cheaper than in the stores.

Excellent Hotel

This was an ideal getaway spot. We enjoy Aruba for it's weather, location and people but they have nothing on the Dominian Republic and the accomodations. The only drawback, if you consider it, is the ride to and from the airport. I would not hesitate for a moment to return or recommend this site to family and friends.

We had a great time in Punta Cana! It was completly relaxing. The only trouble we had was at check in, when we were told we would be staying at another hotel within the Riu complex. This resort was very nice and the staff was wonderfully accomodating to all of our needs.

The beds are VERY uncomfortable. Rooms need updated. The pool is beautiful and the ocean is very close. Good hotel for the price but if I go to punta cana again, I will probably pay a little more and stay somewhere else.
