The resort was beautiful. The staff was very courteous. Except a few of the parking staff were somewhat rude. In all fairness the parking attendants were an outsourced company. The grounds amd private beach are very nicely kept. The food & drinks are way overpriced. Room service is out of the… read full review »

Rio Mar Beach Resort was a terrible disappointment! As soon as I pulled up to the lobby and I had to ask the bellman if someone could help us with our luggage I knew this place was going to be bad!!! The employees need major training regarding CUSTOMER SERVICE! The parking garage was a joke!!… read full review »

My wife and I spent a week at the Rio Mar in mid-September. What a wonderful place... The hotel is clean. The staff was polite, very helpful, and our requests were handled quickly. The grounds are immaculate. The pools are great, and the beach is beautiful. It's not a white sand beach, but light beige. The water is still incredibly clear though, with inviting shades of green and blue that typify the Caribbean and entice you to swim in the ocean. We really couldn?t have asked for anything better. A river flowing down from El Yunque rain forest actually runs into the ocean just a… read full review »

The Wyndam Rio Mar was a very wonderful experience. We were greeted very warmly. Our room had a faboulous view of the ocean. The interior of our room was warm and inviting. The lobby and grounds were beautiful, as well as the two restaurants we visited. There were many eating options and sports facilities. The beach and gardens were pristine, and there were 2 pools, 1 for families and one called the quiet pool which was a nice touch. The spa and restaurants were great (although a bit pricey), but the food was excellent. This resort is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of San… read full review »

This hotel was awful. I ran out of migraine medicine while I was there. I called the dr. on a saturday and didn't get my medicine until Tuesday and had to pick it up myself by which time it didnt even matter anymore. I had to ask EIGHT times for a receipt to submit to my insurance. They finally gave it to me as I was rushing out the door to get to the airport. I went to two tennis clinics only to have the pro not show up for one and be 20 minutes late for the 2nd. They had dance classes on the scedule which we waited 45 minutes for and never happened. Over all it was a more stressful… read full review »

The Wyndham is great. The property is beautiful. There is so much to do on the property. Daily scheduled activities at the hotel. The pool and beach is great. Club Coqui is a good pool side restaurant. I would suggest renting a car. It is not difficult to drive. Visit Old San Juan, it is well worth it. It is about a 30 minute drive to Old San Juan. Two small things about the hotel, we had to call housekeeping a couple of times to replace towels. Customer service is not a top priority for the hotel staff, valet or concierge. I know that is ironic but it is the truth. Overall I had a… read full review »

The Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa is beautiful - lovely grounds, clean beach, large pools, and plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, beach/pool towels. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. I only have a couple of criticisms. First, the food is extremely expensive. I highly recommend asking the concierge for local restaurant recommendations and eating off-property as much as possible. There are friendly bakeries and restaurants within a short drive of the resort (too long to walk.) Second, the air conditioning is set too low in the main foyer and restaurants. Plan to bring… read full review »

ALL WAS GOOD THE SERVICE, THE ROOMS WERE NICE WE HAD A REFRIGERATOR WHERE WE COULD KEEP COLD DRINKS WHICH HELPS FOR THE HOT WEATHER. ALL WAS GOOD EXCEPT AT CHECK IN THEY DIDNT GIVE US THE ROOM UNTILL 4:00PM WHICH IS WAY PAST CHECK IN TIME, WE HAD TO WAIT ALMOST FOUR HOURS TO GET COMFORTABLE AFTER ALMOST 12 HOURS OF FLYING. ITS A MUST TO RENT A CAR BECAUSE THE DINING OPTIONS ARE BAD THE VARIETY OF FOOD IS POOR AND ITS A BIT PRICEY. TRANSPORTATION IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND THE HOTEL IS A BIT ISOLATED SO THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT AND TRANSPORTATION IS EVEN WORSE. THE BEACH WAS BEAUTIFUL AND THE… read full review »

Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa A Wyndham Grande Resort was absolutely breathtaking from the minute you drive into the resort. Everyone was tremendously kind from the bell boys to the housekeeping staff. The room was spacious with large bathrooms. The beds had comfy plush pillows and plenty of sheets. My family can't say enough about the pool and private beach. Absolutely stunning. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at their restaurants, breakfast buffet is a bit expensive but the food was absolutely scrumptious. Dinner prices were average for US prices. I've been to Puerto Rico 9 times, and… read full review »

Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa A Wyndham Grande Resort. THIS WAS NICEST PLACE I EVER STAYED. STAFF WAS FREINDLY AND HELPFUL. THE OCEAN VIEW WAS UNBELIVABLE. THE MANY RESTURANTS WERE GREAT. IT HELPS IF YOU SPEAK SPANISH, BUT THE STAFF DO THERE BEST TO TALK ENGLISH. THE LITTLE COFFEE SHOP HAS A GREAT MOCHA.Recreational Attactions: Short Drive, RAIN FOREST IS A SHORT DRIVE. THE ROAD LEADING TO THE RAIN FOREST IS STRAIGHT ACCROSS THE STREET FROM THE EXIT OF THE RESORT. DONT MISS THE BIG TREE TRAIL. IT HAS A LARGE WAREFALL THAT YOU CAN SWIM UNDER. THE TRAIL IS ABOUT 50 MIN. ONE WAY, BUT WELL WORTH… read full review »

The Rio Mar Resort in Puerto Rico was a luxurious resort with plenty of amenities. The staff was very willing to help with anyting we needed. They even had one place that reasonably priced for food. The rest of the eating establishments was a bit pricey, but nothing out of the ordinary for an all exclusive resort.Money Savers: Short Drive, The drinks and food are really expensive, so make it to the grocery store that is only a short drive away and buy your own six pack or more of your favorite bevarage. They allow you to have your own at the pool or on the beach. —… read full review »

When we first arrived at the hotel, the scenery was absolutely beautiful. This continued to be true of the entire hotel as we continued to explore. It was very family friendly and also very relaxing. The view of the beach from the hotel is absolutely breathtaking. The service was friendly and prompt, everyone there was eager to please. I would definitely return and stay a full week!!Nightlife: Short Drive, There seemed to be friendly music and dancing in the hotel. But if you plan to go into the city rent a car and prepare the day before. —… read full review »

The hotel stay was very nice. The resort provides several activities for everyone in the family. All restaurants were very good. Beaches are beautiful and clean. Some staff, particularly in the coffe shop, is quiet slow and not engaging with the customer. I know we are on vacation, but service should always be effective and efficient. Definitely going back!Recreational Attactions: Short Drive, Rent a car. You can save money and get to do activites unique to Puerto Rico without paying for transportation every time. —… read full review »

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The only two grievances that I have are that our key to our room deactivated probably 5 times during our week stay. This became very very annoying, but they gave us free drinks to compensate us. The second grievance is that the hotel is on the Atlantic Ocean, not hte Caribean so the water is not as pretty and is much rougher. The hotel tho was beautiful. The excurions, though pricey, were very fun.Recreational Attactions: Short Drive, El Yunque Rainforest. —… read full review »

the food there is very expensive and not that good. I mean we were in Puerto Rico and i was eating a $30 Breakfast that would have cost $8 at Denny's. Where is the local food and chefs? The Pools were nice, wireless internet only in the lobby. Great Beach, Great staff, very spacious. Golf, tennis, wonderful.Recreational Attactions: Short Drive, rain forest —… read full review »
