A while back there was a sale at the local makeup store and I found this mascara for really cheap and I was in need of new mascara so I went ahead and bought it. When I took it home and opened it there were a few small clumps on the brush but nothing I couldn't scrape off with ease. I put it on and my lashes looked great at first, I was so surprised!! However, by the end of the day the mascara was flaking all over my, whenever I would touch my face after I'd been wearing it a few hours there would be little black flakes on my fingertips, and I can just say now it's not the best choice if you're looking for something waterproof. It's good for the first few hours but it wears off rather fast and is not something you should consider if you have long work hours and need something long lasting.

I was looking for an affordable mascara for volumizing and I saw that the Rimmel brand is cheaper than most other mascaras at my local store. I figured I couldn't really go wrong with this volumizing mascara, right? So wrong. First of all, the bristles of the brush are really hard and hurt the skin on my eye when I would get too close. Secondly, this takes a lot of coats and strokes to get any sort of volume without lashed clumped all together. When you get that part worked out, the lashes don't look that bad. They are certainly not super voluminous, like you would hope when you buy a volumizing mascara, but they are ok. The worst part about this whole thing is that this mascara starts flaking off after about 30 minutes--not exaggerating. I would apply this in the morning, go to work, look in the mirror and see flakes under my eyes already! And by the end of the day? What a disaster. I used this mascara for a short time (instead of throwing it) because I spent money on it, but after that short time I did end up throwing it away. Don't be fooled by this "cheaper" product. You'll be wasting your money on flakes under your eyes.

I'm a big mascara buff--I LOVE using it.  I've discovered through much trial and error that my favorite mascaras are the ones that come with curved brushes.  I have really long curly eyelashes and the straight brushes just don't get the job done.  Very rarely can I get all the corners, etc., without practically stabbing my eyeball with the hairy little sword.  I had never tried Rimmel's The Max Volume Bold Curves mascara before, but was willing to give it a try by the brush shape alone.  And believe it or not, this one really is different!  I don't know if the difference is good or not, but I can't say I'm unhappy.  The brush is curved, yes, but it's also kind of, well, *stumpy*--for lack of a better word.  The crescent curve is more like a baby moon and doesn't fit the line of my eyelashes as well as some of the other brands I've tried.  However, it goes on well, it does get all the corners, it doesn't clump, doesn't feather off and flake during the day, and still manages to work well with the rest of my eye makeup.  Quite simply, it gets the job done, although I don't know that I'll make a great effort to go out and buy it again.  If I find it on a great sale, though, I'll be more than happy to give it another try.

**Rimmel London The Max Volume Flash Mascara **is decent (not the best) mascara for volume with many downfalls however.  NOT so good for length - also perfect if you like a little bit of flakes at lunchtime.  LOL So yes for sure, I am a mascara "specialist", I blush to say that my "tube every other week addiction" to mascara might make me even a connoisseur of mascara. Yikes!  But someone has to do it and so I guess I'm your gal.  Some women's husbands bring them flowers, mine brings me mascara to delight me!  Funny, but very true! Okay, so let's get down to the nitty gritty.  **Rimmel London The Max Volume Flash Mascara **starts out a little wet and I hate liquidy mascara. When its too wet, it becomes very messy and actually increase my "get it together" time - being a mom of 3 I need every minute to "get it together" as I can get.  So that took away 1 star from my review.  Consistency in a mascara is important. After my initial use of this tube of **Rimmel London The Max Volume Flash Mascara**, I found that I didn't care for it.  But when I came back to it a few weeks later and it had a chance to dry up a smidge, it turned out to be a decent mascara for volume.  I call this category: "***the starter tube***"***.***  **The Max Volume Flash Mascara **is good as a base coat, but if you're looking for shine or length, this mascara is not for you. Some gals might think the brush is on the large size - I've seen larger! LOL  I would say that the brush is medium size and it's very easy to handle.  But because its a thick brush it seems to cut down any hope of actually lengthening my lashes, which is what I need. **The Max Volume Flash Mascara **dries very fast after you apply it, so if you like a second coat you need to get in there and do it fast, otherwise you get some good clumping action going on.  Also, mid day I noticed flakes - and I am guilty, I do not take off my mascara really until the next day in the shower, so when I tried this mascara I got flakes in my eyes while I settled down for bed and the next morning I had flakes all under my eyes.  SCARRY! **Rimmel London The Max Volume Flash Mascara **is an ok mascara, but Rimmel does make many other great mascaras for you to try.  I honestly wouldn't bother with this one, even though others love it - I just feel there are many other great drug store mascaras for you to spend your time and money on.  I'll make sure to review all of the ones I've tried out so far for you!

**Rimmel London The Max Volume Flash Mascara **is another great product from Rimmel!  After getting a great deal on this mascara, I decided to give it a try.  Because even the normal price wasn't very much, I wasn't really sure what to expect as far as performance.  I was pleasantly surprised.  The way the brush is made apparently makes this product load onto your eyelashes and give you mega volume very quickly.  Your lashes really do go from skinny to fat in ten seconds flat, just like Rimmell says they will.  It is very easy to apply.  It also dries fairly quickly.  **Rimmel London The Max Volume Flash Mascara** is a great product to use for everyone from novice to expert.  Both of my older daughters and I use this mascara and are very pleased with the results. If you are looking for a mascara that is easy to apply, gives you tons of volume, dries quickly and lasts for quite a long time, **Rimmel London The Max Volume Flash Mascara** is the product for you!

I received a free tube of this mascara and I did really like it initially.  The product made my lashes look super full and long and I really loved it. In fact, I was really impressed with my first look at this product, and I have tried many many mascaras in my day.  By the end of the day, the thrill was gone for me.  I felt like I was wearing as much mascara beneath my eyes as I was wearing on my eyes.  I have fairly long eyelashes, so when a product starts flaking, I start looking like a raccoon pretty quickly.  I need a mascara with great staying power, and this just did not fit the bill.  It flaked pretty quickly and ended up all over my face.  Also, I thought that it clumped in the tube pretty quickly after being opened. I really want to like Rimmel and I have had success with some of their other mascaras.  I am happy to see a seemingly hip product line at their price point.  However, but this particular variety was not the best match for me.

I really have enjoyed this mascara.  It darkens and lengthens your lashes without getting clumpy.  You don't need to many applications.  The wand is nice and not too thick.  I have recommend this to many friends who have enjoyed it also.  Great product.

I have never had such a bad experience with mascara as I have with Rimmel Flash. I got it during a BOGO sale at Ulta; while the price is fantastic, this is one case in which I got what I paid for. Pulling the brush out of the tube gave me a black, gobby mess. I could barely see the bristles because the mascara had coated it like tar; I've never experienced mascara that does that before. Putting it on was challenging, at best, because it just globbed on and made my lashes stick together. When it did dry, I was left pulling off the goop balls. Or, I would find the mascara bits flaking off throughout the day. After awhile of dealing with this, I finally just washed my face. I don't know if this mascara is just not what I'm used to, or if I had a defective tube. It was so bad that I ended up sending the unused portion back to Rimmel. No response yet, but I will follow up if I hear from anyone. In my experience, there are much better mascaras for the money. "Budget" should not mean "tar-like". It was pretty disgusting.

Absolutely one of the best mascaras i have ever used!!  A great price too.  You only need 2 coats and you're done. No messing around trying to get that last lash- Rimmel's great brush already did that! No clumping or flaking either. I never expected a product so inexpensive to work as beautifully as this did but I was in for a pleasant surprise, I have found my go-to mascara.

I bought this mascara wanting to try something new and now I am hooked on Rimmel Volume Flash Mascara.  I feel that it definetly makes my lashes look thicker and fuller.  It seems that I can layer it up and they just keep getting thicker.  I love the way my eyes look with this mascara.  I have had no problems with it clumping!  I put this mascara on in the morning and it last all day without rubbing off or getting under my eyes.  The brush on this is thicker which I do like because I feel that it is covering every lash.  It works perfect for the top and bottom lashes and I have no problems when putting it on.  It washes off quite nice too, no scubbing it off.  I feel like my lashes are healthier too and that they are actually thicker. It has to be the best mascara that I have found it quite a long time.  I felt that the money I paid was well worth the value of this product. I would recommend trying this product out!
