In my most recent issue of All You magazine (read review HERE) there was a coupon to try  Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara for FREE.  (This is a new product by Rimmel)  Well, I love anything that's free, and I am always up for trying new makeup products, so I was all for it.  The coupon had to be redeemed at a Walmart store.

The normal price for Rimmel's Sexy Curves mascara, if purchased at Walmart, would have been $ 6.99.  That's a pretty average price for mascara, but still.....saving that much money is always nice.  I like the product packaging of this mascara.  It's packaged in purple & black, with the words Sexy Curves standing out attractively in bright white lettering.

Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara is a volumizing mascara that is said to increase the curl of your lashes by 70%.  The application brush is very uniquely shaped, sectioned off into three bumpy areas that are supposed to plump up lashes.  The application brush is a feminine shade of pink, and passes through something in the interior of the mascara bottle that eliminates clumps of mascara from passing onto the brush.  That was, by far, my favorite feature of this mascara.  Getting clumps of mascara onto your eyelids would be virtually impossible with the way this is designed.

The mascara is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.  It has been opthalmologically tested too.  I was pleased with the overall wear of this mascara and would recommend it to friends.

Now, I have long eyelashes naturally.  I honestly can say that I did not think this mascara amplified the length of my lashes, or increased their fullness.  I did, however, like the way it felt on my eyelashes because it's a lighter coverage than other mascaras.  IF you are looking for a mascara that will thicken the appearance of your lashes, I don't think that this is the right product for you.  I felt that my eyes look naturally brightened, and not necessarily like I had a lot of mascara on.  Everyone wants to receive a different effect from their makeup, so I wanted to point out what it actually does.

At the end of the day, the mascara came off very easily.  The packaging does not claim that it's waterproof, so I honestly can't review how it holds up if you cry, or come into contact with water.  However, it was not difficult at all to get off when I removed my makeup, and didn't smear across my face once it was off either.  I like the natural look of this mascara, but wouldn't use it if I was after a "dramatic" look.

Great review and I shall be envious of you if you have long eyelashes. A few years ago the colored mascaras were popular so I was using a royal blue by Rimmel London. Now I'm still clinging to the last of my L'Oreal Voluminous.

Thanks for the info! I like bold, dramatic lashes, so this probably isn't for me, but now I know not to buy it. Glad it worked out for you AND it was free :)

Great review! I need drama for my not-so-naturally-dramatic lashes, so I think I'll have to look elsewhere. Isn't it funny how much we're affected by packaging?! I love when mascara comes in an attractive tube!
