Several months ago I was watching Saturday Night Beauty on QVC and almost bought a new mascara that has a comb applicator instead of a brush. It looked so good but was $30 for two of them and I just knew it would not turn out to be all I expected so I resisted.
Still, I was intrigued about the comb applicator concept so I started researching online and found some gals who said they tried Rimmel's Lash Maxx mascara and liked it the same or actually better than the other product so I tried it myself and I LOVE it! Since then I've bought 2 more tubes of it and it's one of my all time favorites now.
Rimmel Lash Maxx does not have the typical brush applicator. Instead it has a hot pink comb that dips into the tube and comes out coated with mascara. The comb's teeth are about 1/8 inch long and are very fine. It took about 2 tries to apply this mascara just right but now that I'm used to it, I really like the result. I found that the easiest way to apply it is to wipe the flat, solid edge of the wand across my lashes to glom the mascara onto them. Then I use the comb with the closely spaced teeth separate my lashes and distribute the mascara. The result is perfectly coated and separated lashes without clumps or lashes that are stuck together.
Lash Maxx is not waterproof but stays on pretty well even when swimming. I swam while wearing it a few times and it was fine but when I rubbed my eyes it was kind of ugly. That's about the only con I can think of about Rimmel Lash Maxx.
