Barely any relief/not my first choice for a cough drop.

1

Ricola usually isn't my first choice for cough drops, but the cherry honey flavor sounded like it would be good, and I wanted to try something new so I picked them up instead of my usual cough drops. The Ricola Cherry Honey Cough Drops are meant to relieve minor throat irritations, but I feel like they didn't work that well at all. Maybe my sore throat was too severe, or maybe these weren't strong enough to tackle a real cold/cough...The menthol and honey did soothe my throat slightly but not enough to keep me from coughing. It felt like a very small temporary relief. I definitely wouldn't recommend these if you have a bad cough or sore throat. I would probably recommend these as a sucking candy for when you have a slightly scratchy throat, or your throat is iffy from allergies. Also like I said I was originally interested in this for it's flavor, because I love anything cherry flavored but the flavor wasn't all that great. It was a weird mix of honey, cherry, and menthol. It had a weird medicinal flavor to it, which I'm sure some people might like. This is definitely not my first choice for a cough drop, and I probably won't be purchasing it again. Congestion Relief They didn't give me any sort of nasal or chest congestion relief. Chest Congestion Relief I didn't feel like these has any type of chest congestion relief. Relief of Aches & Pains These are not meant for the relief of aches and pains. Cough Suppression It had very minimal relief. I felt like is helped to reduce my coughs, but not completely, and not well enough for a severe sore throat. It was better then nothing at all but I probably would not use this again, unless I had a very minor cough.

My go to cough drop, dont over use them

I've tried many different brands and flavors of cough drops and these are by far my favorite. I'll start with the negative. I have not found these to help with congestion, but I haven't found ANY cough drops that resolve congestion. This flavor is delicious, my son loves them as well. It soothes my throat incredibly well and does a good job of reducing the amount of coughing. I do notice that the more I eat the less it helps, so definitely don't over use them or it might actually feel worse. I've noticed that during weeks where I've eaten a lot of them my mucus actually gets worse as well. The price is excellent, I've even found these in discount stores, and Ricola is a brand I trust. I've noticed other brands started incorporating more uses into cough drops, and I think Ricola might benefit from that as well. It seems like these cough drops only benefit is soothing your throat and reducing coughing, some more symptoms could be relieved as well.

Great tasting herbal cough drops with gentle relief.

Ricola Natural Cherry Honey Herb Cough Drops are really great tasting, just like the package promises. This is one of my favorite flavors of Ricola cough drops, because the taste is good (it doesn't taste like bitter herbs, or something nasty). More importantly, these cough drops give you soothing, gentle relief from minor pains and irritations caused by sore throats and coughs. As they dissolve in your mouth, they liquefy and flow down your throat to give you a layer of protective, soothing relief over the raw, redness caused by sore throats. They dissolve quickly, and the relief lasts for a reasonable length of time. I use these cough drops often when I have a cold because they both taste good and help make me feel better! Congestion Relief These cough drops don't really get rid of congestion for you, but they do make you feel better. Relief of Aches & Pains Relief for milder, minor pain from having a sore throat.

Just okay.

Both my husband and I have had colds and sore throats for the past few weeks. My girlfriend had brought me some Halls lozenges the week before (I'm not sure which flavor, but they were fruity and tasted really good) that worked well When I went to the grocery store shopping, I decided to buy more, but forgot what kind they were. I saw the Ricola and thought they looked like they would be even better. Plus, I've seen the ads on TV so the brand sounded good. They were okay, but did not meet my expectations. The flavor wasn't as good as the Halls, they didn't work as well, and there is some gooey stuff in the middle (like in Gushers candy) that I didn't care for. My cold was better by the time I started using these lozenges, so I can't speak as much to their efficacy per say, but I don't think I will buy them again. Congestion Relief I noticed no difference. Chest Congestion Relief I noticed no real difference. Relief of Aches & Pains My sore throat may have felt a little bit better. Cough Suppression No noticeable difference.

Basically Candy, But Soothed Toddlers Sore Throat

Our daughter had a runny nose during the day, which didn't seem too bad. She went to sleep that night just fine, but woke up about 11pm crying inconsolably. She wouldn't drink tea/honey or even take honey straight, so I went to the store to get Ricola drops because I knew she would think of them as candy and take them. I picked the cherry flavor, and although I know it's basically candy, it does have some menthol properties and herbs in there in some quantity. The regular Ricola drops always soothe my sore throats when I get them, so I stand by the efficacy. I use the top side of a butcher knife blade (the non-sharp side) to bust up the drop into pieces. This was done to prevent a choking hazard. The pieces are sharp once broken, so care still has to be taken, but it works. She munched on them, calmed down a bit, then was ready for some honey/lemon/tea and fell asleep a short while later. She slept fairly well the rest of the night.

Ricola Cherry Honey Herb: Odd Taste and Little Relief

2

A bad cough needs intense treatment, but a milder cough can be controlled with less intense medication and less effort. One product made for milder cough relief is Ricola Natural Cherry Honey Herb Cough Drops. Cough Drop Facts and Commentary: Ricola Natural Cherry Honey Herb Cough Drops are made with special herbs and other ingredients to help soothe the throat and fight a cough. The drops can be taken as often as needed and they have a safe, non- threatening quality about them that will appeal to more worrisome consumers who often resist taking any type of over the counter medicine. Ricola Natural Cherry Honey Herb Cough Drops have a candy- like flavor than some will like, but I find the herbal component of the flavor a little odd and not as good as some of the other fruit flavors offered by this brand. But aside from the taste, the general usefulness of this product is also not the best. I find that it does offer some soothing action and a small amount of relief, but the relief is limited and I don't find it all that good for a serious or even semi- serious cough. Ricola Natural Cherry Honey Herb Cough Drops are a little more expensive than some other cough drop brands and the relief they provide is only so- so. Compared to Halls and others, this one rates a little below the norm because at least with the others, the menthol vapors can help make sinus passages feel a little clearer. All you get with this product is a small amount of cough relief. My Bottom Line: My bottom line Viewpoint on Ricola Natural Cherry Honey Herb Cough Drops is that they are only semi- useful and there are better cough drops available for less money. I would still take one if I had nothing else, but I doubt I would ever buy this Ricola product again due to its odd flavor and limited ability. Congestion Relief Not made for this type of relief Chest Congestion Relief Not made for this type of relief Relief of Aches & Pains Not made for this type of relief Cough Suppression Cough relief is minimal- better than nothing at all but not as good as some of the better cough syrups or even other cough drops.

A decent cough drop

When you get sick, you want relief. Sore throats can cause more coughing and are all kinds of uncomfortable on their own, which is why people turn to cough drops, but there are a lot of different brands out there, including Halls and Ricola and the various store brands and the like. I tend to prefer Ricola over the others, because they do the job and taste good. That being said, this isn't the best flavor Ricola has come up with. It does a decent job of soothing a sore throat, so no complaints there, but the drops kind of make my (sometimes-sensitive) teeth hurt. The flavor is so-so. It's not as bad as some of the heavily mentholated drops I have tried in the past but it really doesn't compare to other flavors like the original Ricola or the Lemon-Honey-Echinacea, which I feel is superior in efficacy and taste. These are still a decent cough drop to try, though. The taste has grown on me as I've worked my way through a bag and I guess it might be better to people who like the kind of weird flavor. At least it doesn't taste all fake and cloying like Halls often does. These are a solid three stars - not great but not bad, and worth checking out if you think you might like the flavor since they DO help soothe your throat OK. Just buy one of the smaller bags first, don't invest in a huge one (or buy in bulk) unless you know you like them.

Inferior to Halls

When I get sick, the first thing to bother me is my throat.  It instantly swells and makes it hard to talk, swallow, etc... After seeing countless number of Ricole commercials, I tried to give the product a try.  Unfortunately, I was horribly disappointed. First of all, Ricola only comes in small packages.  When you consider the price you pay for such a small bag of cought drops, you realize that Ricola is not competitive with other brands. I bought them despite this.  The cough drop only tastes good for about 5 seconds. Then it gets a weird, bitter, tangy taste.  It was so disgusting that I had to spit the cough drop out.  There aren't even a large variety of flavors to choose from. I decided to then give the product another try, just in case it actually does work.... They don't. Neither do they stop you from coughing. My throat was not soothed whatsoever, which basically renders the product useless.

Taste as good as candy, and help stop a cough too

I love Ricola Natural Cherry Honey Herb Throat Drops. These Swiss made cough drops are a fantastic balance of sweetness and soothing properties. There are several nice flavors, but the Cherry Honey are my favorite. They taste more like a hard candy than a cough drop. Indeed, in Switzerland, they are in the candy section of the store. However, I don't find them too sweet and sugary. I feel a bit ill if I have too much sugar on an empty stomach, but these don't give me any trouble. I keep a few Ricolas in my purse incase I get a tickly throat or dry cough. Sometimes I'll have one just because I fancy something a bit sweet. I imagine these would be great for kids. I like that they are reasonably priced and widely avaliable (in several countries including USA, Switzerland, and UK). I will admit, they aren't the best cough drops in the world. Sometimes I get a really tough cought that these just can't seem to touch. I used to use the Celestial Seasonings cough drops which also tasted nice but worked a bit better, but they became almost impossible to find. These are the next best thing I have found.

Ricola Throat Drops get me talking

**Ricola Natural Cherry Honey Herb Throat Drops 24 Each are a life saver during cold and flu season.  They really sooth a sore throat (of a teacher who has to speak up for 3 hours a day).  They tates great, don't leave your tongue and throat numb and get the job done.  ** **I always carry a pack in my purse during cold season, and even during the summer to have handy in case of bad breath.  I take along some when travelling abroad -- medicine is so expensive in eastern europe and Asia and my relatives appreciate me bringing a few packs for them.** **The only thing I's change is the packs -- I'd rather have bigger packs as I'm very price-conscious.  **
