Reynolds Handi-Vac Handheld Vacuum Sealer —
I saw the Handi-Vac in a coupon insert, and thought "Boy, this would be perfect...if it really works". I read the reviews here on Viewpoints and decided to buy it. It is VERY reasonably priced (about $10) vs around $100 for other vacuum sealers. For "empty nesters" like my husband and me this is a terrific product, as the only way to take advantage of sales and leftovers is to freeze. I can't tell you how much I have thrown out because of freezer burn. I have another sealer my kids bought me a few years ago- that I never use because it literally vacuums too much, and uses too much bag material, and is big and bulky, and can't be easily opened and resealed. In other words there isn't anything good about it beyond the idea of vacuum sealing. This hand held vacuum is easy to use (thanks to Viewpoint reviewers for the don't press too hard tip), I store it in the plastic "box" it came in. This thing is so much fun to use you'll be looking around for stuff to freeze I am not kidding! So far I everything I've frozen is far superior to not-vacuumed. The resealing feature has been great for grated cheese, my homemade crumb topping, my sliced homemade bread, frozen leftover fried chicken, etc. I cannot say enough good things about this gadget. I don't really see a downside other than agreeing the boxes of bags should perhaps be 20 or 25 count (if they gave a price break for larger quantities). I wash and reuse the bags and they work just as good as new bags. I do limit using the washed bags to items that will be cooked after thawing.

I like the photos you included with your review - I can see how your other vacuum sealer might have been too much while this one suits your purposes much better.
