Reynolds Handi-Vac Handheld Vacuum Sealer —

For long storage of items and freezer goods, I trust my Food Saver System; but for those items I regularly get in and out of, like deli goods, I don't like having to create a whole new Food Saver Bag when they cost as much as they do. Well, Reynold's resolved this issue with the Reynold's Handy Vac System!

The Reynold's Handy Vac System is a lightweight, hand-held device that sucks the air out of their specially designed RESEALABLE, sacks. The outer clear plastic nosil is removable for cleaning purposes and battery operated (6-AAs). The bags come in sandwich and quart sack and can be used in the refrigerator and freezer. The bags can be hand-washed and reused (about 2-3 times at most, then replace them). It comes with 3 bags, then replacement bags can be purchased separately.

Finally! The Reynold's Handy Vac is just what I needed to save the cost of the Food Saver Bags. What a handy and fabulous in-between product! For a fraction of the cost, I can re-open these bags when I'm making sammies and reseal to keep the deli goods fresher longer! You're SAVING MONEY ALL AROUND! And in the time of a recession, who doesn't LOVE to SAVE MONEY!?!

A handy tip: press the sealer with a light hand, yet steady pressure; if you press too hard, the nosil will not be able to suck and you could risk breakage. As always, read the instructions before using.

The only down side is that you have to be careful with the sacks because they can puncture; but they're similar to the traditional Reynold's sacks, so do expect to replace them. Even with purchasing replacement bags, you're saving money by making your food last longer using The Reynold's Handy Vac System.

I'm not sure. I didn't even know Ziploc had one until seeing the feedback from this review.

It is very helpful, I really like it. . . mine is ziploc too though but they look just the SAME

My husband is fascinated with this when we're shopping. He keeps hinting. BUT don't the refills cost more than zip locl type freezer bags? Good review.

This looks like mine but for some reason I thought mine was made by Ziploc. Hmm...I do love mine though.
