RewardTV Review

I actually hear about rewardtv through viewpoints.  It sounded pretty fun and an easy way to earn points that you can redeem later for gift cards.  

The site is all about television shows and movies playing in theaters.  You can answer many different kinds of surveys about these subject and receive points.  It's real easy to rack up the points too.  In no time at all I was up over 400,00 points!  I thought, "This is great!"  But as exciting as it was to see those points rack up, I was equally as disappointed when I tried to get something with these points.

They have "shopping sprees" once or twice a week.  There is a specific day and a specific time of that day that you logon to try to use up your points.  They'll usually have three different gift cards you can choose from, but the thing is, they have a VERY limited amound of each gift card available.  For instance they'll have 25 gift cards for a gas station, maybe 75 gift cards for a fast food restaurant, and then another (usually a retail store) at a limited 50 or so cards available.  At the precise time EVERYONE that is online is trying to win these cards!  You have to wait till you see the 'buy now' button and then try to get your hands on one.  It's virtually impossible.  Twice I thought I had went through the process to obtain a card, only to have my computer freeze up on me and kick me out of the system.

Other ways to obtain prizes are to use their auction.  But that too, is virtually impossible to win.  People are bidding on items and they have millions (literally) of points.  They must sit all day long every day and answer these trivia questions & surveys to achieve that many points.  I don't have that kind of time.

So, while taking the surveys and quizzes are sort of fun, it's really pretty pointless.  And also, it does lose it's novelty pretty quickly.
