Revlon Professional Nail Enamel Remover —

Revlon Professional Nail Enamel Remover

Without a lot of thought to brand name either way, I bought a bottle of nail polish remover.  It was Revlon Professional Nail Enamel Remover.  In the past I had used Sally Hansen brand of nail polish remover and it worked just fine.  I didn't really think there would much difference one way or another in nail polish removers.  I really had no brand loyalties or objections.  Now I do.

Revlon Professional Nail Enamel Remover bottle says:

"Helps moisturize and condition nails.  Enriched with Jojoba oil.  Acetone-free, non-stripping."

My experience:

I recently got a compliment on my nails and I looked and thought, "Ahem, Angela, it's fall already- time to get rid of the beach pink."

So I set out to do a DIY manicure and apply a new nail color for fall.  I put the nail enamel remover on a cotton pad as usual and started trying to remove the old polish.  It didn't come off easily, even with elbow grease and more nail enamel remover. Using Revlon Nail Enamel Remover was disappointing and frustrating and I made a mental note to replace that stuff.

It gets worse.  The next day the pads of my fingertips started cracking and over the next few days were peeling.  They looked bad and they felt bad.  I've had nail polish removed many, many times in both nail salons and at home.  I've never had any reaction to other product like this before.  A subsequent use of Sally Hansen didn't do that either so it isn't "me."

Did I get a bad bottle of Revlon Professional Nail Enamel Remover?  I don't know but I won't buy another one to test it out.  I did follow the very simple directions.  "Moisten cotton with remover.  Stroke over nail until clean."  I am really no beauty diva but I can follow those directions.

My Viewpoint:  I never really gave brands of nail polish remover a lot of thought but I will avoid Revlon Professional Nail Enamel Remover in the permanent future.
