Good flat iron.

5

This is the flat iron that I currently own and I think it works great. I bought it after my other one gave out on me. It has worked great so far. It heats up really quickly and gets my hair really straight. I have also found a way to curl my hair using this flat iron. The size of it is perfect and gives my hair the perfect curl when I style it that way. I have experienced no problems with it. The price on it was not too bad either. It was not the cheapest brand, but the quality of it has been wonderful. It was definitely worth what I paid for it. I would highly recommend trying this flat iron out. Effectiveness It has been really effective for my hair. On the days when I want my hair to be straight, it gets is super straight. It also straightens it in a short amount of time. I have also learned how to curl my hair with this and it works great for that too. Durability I have had mine for a few months and it has held up great.

Don't bother with this straightener

2

This is not a good hair straightener. When it comes to straighteners, you get what you pay for. This straightener from Revlon is pretty much junk. I picked it up because my good straightener broke and I needed something to use while I waited for the new one I ordered to arrive. I think it damaged my hair pretty badly. It didn't straighten my waves very well at all. It also did not give me the pretty, shiny hair that I am used to getting from a good hair straightener. My hair just looked kind of flat but frizzy. It was not a good look. Effectiveness This is one of the least effective hair straighteners I've ever used. I definitely would not recommend this to anyone looking for a good straightener. Yes, it's cheap but a low price doesn't always equal a good value. It sure doesn't in this case. Also, my hair is not super thick so it's not like that is the problem. Durability I only used it twice so I can't say for sure how durable it is, but judging by the feel of it I wouldn't expect it to be all that durable.

Works for the Money

It's a cheap straightener that works okay. I don't absolutely love it but I don't want the shell out the money for a really nice one that I know will work great. I have kind of curly/wavy hair that likes to frizz in any kind of humidity. Getting it to curl the way I want to has always been a pain for me. This flat iron works and keeps my hairstyle the way I want for about half a day, less if there is any kind of rain or snow and then there's no hope of it ever being straight! I've found that I have to iron the same piece of hair over and over again multiple times for it to finally be all straight or curl the way I want it too. It would take so much less time to fix my hair if I could do a piece once and be done. I have had fairly short and long hair while I have owned this flat iron and I would say it works a lot better with short hair. It doesn't seem to have enough heat to keep long hair straight.

Heats up slow, doesn't work well on wavy hair.

I used this straightener for a few years because it was inexpensive and my other one broke. I finally traded it in for a better one and it made me realize how bad this one really was. It takes about 5-10 mins to heat up. Most straighteners now days heat up within 60 seconds, so this is annoying when I'm on the go. It really doesn't work for me unless I blow dry straight first, because it doesn't get hot enough to straighten my fine wavy hair. I have long hair, and I wouldn't recommend it for long hair and definitely not thick hair. I will never repurchase this particular straightener. Effectiveness It just doesn't get hot enough to do the job, and it takes too long to heat up. I wouldn't recommend unless you have naturally fairly straight hair and its fine to medium in thickness. Durability My straighter has actually held up a number of years with almost daily use, so this is the one good thing that I can say about it!

It would probably work well for thin/short hair

I used this one for about a month and even that was too long. I think it was because my hair was too long and thick. It took forever to straighten just one lock of hair, so instead of spending six and a half hours just to straighten my hair, I would just deal with it looking kinda crappy. It's only one inch wide, and maybe that's why it didn't work for me. Also, I don't think it got hot enough.

Good for a cheaper straightener.

I've had this straightener for a few years. It gets the job done as far as a cheap straightener goes. Very affordable price. Great tool to use when wanting to curl hair with straightener. Would recommend for those who don't straighten hair often. Effectiveness It gets the job done Durability I've owned mine for several years and still works

Not worth it

1

My old straightener broke on me, so I had to get a new one. I didn't have much money to spend on it, so I decided to go with Revlon. I don't like it at all. It makes my hair frizzy and is very slow at getting it straight. I should have known better, if you want a good straightener, you're going to have to pay the price. It is slow to heat up and slow to cool down. I guess if you have thin hair and it's short, it probably wouldn't be so bad to use. But my hair is fairly long and I have a lot of it. So it takes forever to become straight.

Revlon 1 Inch Ceramic Staightener Works Great!

4

I have always had naturally straight hair, so the need for one of these for me was more for a quick touch up when it istarted to get frizzy. I bought one and hardly used it for about a year and a half. Well, i had my little girl about 16 months ago. After i had her, my hair completely changed. I no longer have that great straight hair. It has a bit of a curl to it now. So, was and go isn't an option for me anymore. I wasn't sure how this hair straightener would do for me, since I do have thick hair. Well, i have been pleasantly surprised. It does a great job straightening my hair. The only con that I have is that it doesn't last that long anymore, but that may have nothing to do with the straightener and more with my hair. All in all, for the price, I think its a great product!

Heats up fast!

Revlon Perfect Heat Ceramic Plus Styling Iron is a 1 inch ceramic curling iron.  It is easy to clean.  It has an on and an off button located on the handle and a red light indicates when the iron is on.  This is a fast heating iron that only takes 30 seconds to heat.  This iron has 30 heat settings.  To change the heat settings there is a dial located on the side of the iron.  What I don't like about the dial is that when styling your hair it is very easy to accidently move the dial and change the heat setting.  There is an auto shut off safety feature which is great for those times you are in a rush and forget to turn the curling iron off.  The iron will shut off after an hour.  The cord is a swivel cord so it will not get in your way when styling your hair.  It comes with a silicone protective cover to place on your Revlon Perfect Heat Ceramic Plus Styling Iron when you are not using it.  In the instruction manual there is a chart that tells you which heat setting to use depending on the type of hair you have.  I found that chart very useful.  Overall I think this is a great curling iron.

Great iron for the price!

I was specifically looking for a 1" curling iron, and compared this to the other options in the store.  The pluses to this iron over the Conair and other brands available were the ceramic barrel, and the 30 heat settings.   I have hair that is somewhat fine and prone to damage, so I was hoping the ceramic coated barrel would help lesson breakage.  I've been using this iron for about two weeks, just about every day.  One of the biggest things I love about this iron is the shine that it produces in my hair.  The 1" barrel is the perfect size, and it creates very shiny, bouncy curls.  It will take more usage to determine if I notice a lessening in damage from curling, but I do notice a more even heating and more smooth curling process, that seems gentler overall to my hair.
