This Fantasy Mascara is more like a bad dream in my opinion.

I'm not normally as negative in my reviews as I am going to be in this one. I always tell the truth, but there is usually something positive that can be said a product. I can't think of anything positive to say about **Revlon Lash Fantasy Primer & Mascara 101 Blackest Black**. I remember buying this mascara a year or so ago. I remember using it four or five times and I remember deciding it was a lost cause and buying a different mascara. I have been going through my cosmetics lately, trying to see what I need to buy for the winter, what I need to remember I like the most that I have been using during the summer so that I will use it again when spring comes, and throwing away 'junk' that I never should have kept in the first place. This mascara falls into the latter category. Let me just say that it's a remote possibility that the tube of mascara that I bought had been sitting on the shelf for a long time. If that's what happened, then I apologize for all of the negative things that I'm going to write in this review. I'm now going to tell you my experience with **Revlon Lash Fantasy Primer & Mascara 101 Blackest Black**. This mascara has two sides. One is a very white primer and the other is the mascara. The specific directions are: *"**Get the look:*** - ***Step 1** - Apply primer to lashes. * - ***Step 2** - Add 2-3 coats of mascara for desired lash look.* *Removes easily with soap and water."* My problem with this two step process is very simple. By the time I was finished using the primer, and began applying the mascara, the primer had dried as stiff as a board and the mascara colored the primer black but there was no way to seperate, lengthen, or give my lashes more volume. It wasn't like regular mascara where you can make your lashes longer and thicker looking by applying two or three coats. Whatever I achieved with the primer was all I was going to get. Well, it's a little difficult to tell how thick or long your eyelashes are when they are chalk-white. I would use the primer, think my eyelashes looked good, apply the mascara, and realize that I didn't have long, thick eyelashes at all. They needed several more coats to get the look I'm used to having and like. But the primer was already dry and the mascara wasn't strong enough to break through it and add any volume or length. It was very frustrating. The more mascara I tried to put over the primer, the more my lashes clumped together. The description Revlon gives about this mascara is a far cry from what I experienced when I used it, but I'll give you **their description **anyway: *"Revlon Lash Fantasy Total Definition**Blackest Black 101 Mascara.* - *5x the impact - No Clumps * - *With Carbon Black * - *Exclusive Lash Separating Brush * - *Primer & Mascara * - *Ophthalmologist tested * - *Non irritating * - *Suitable for contact lens wearers * - *Safe for sensitive eyes* ***What it does: **"Revlon Lash Fantasy Total Definition primer and mascara nourishes, thickens and lengthens lashes with amazing definition, for beautiful, stop-them-in-their-tracks fantasy lashes!"* ***How it works: ****"Vitamin enriched primer nourishes, lifts and makes lashes look up to 70% longer.  **Mascara with Carbon Black pigment, delivers thickness and rich, intense color impact that lasts all day, without smudging or flaking.  **New Lash Separating brushes comb through every single lash for beautiful definition without clumping. **5x the impact = 2x the thickness + 1.7x the length + 1.3x the lift.* ***Ingredients:*** - **Primer:**  Aqua (Water, Eau), Paraffin, Stearic Acid, PPG-17/IPDI/DMPA Copolymer, Acacia Senegal Gum, Cera Carnauba (Copernicia Cerifera Wax), Cera Alba (Beeswax), Cyclopentasiloxane, Glyceryl Stearate, Triethanolamine, Tricontanyl PVP, Dimethiconol, Lecithin, Panthenol, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Stearyl Esters, Tocopheryl Acetate, Simethicone, Polysorbate 20, Retinyl Palmitate, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Sorbitan Laurate, Propylene Glycol Laurate, Propylene Glycol Stearate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Hydrolyzed Corn Starch, Nylon-12, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.  May Contain [+/-: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891)]. - **Mascara:**  Aqua (Water, Eau), Paraffin, Stearic Acid, PPG-17/IPDI/DMPA Copolymer, Cyclopentasiloxane, Triethanolamine, Cera Carnauba (Copernicia Cerifera Wax), Cera Alba (Beeswax), Glyceryl Stearate, Tricontanyl PVP, Acacia Senegal Gum, Dimethiconol, Glycerin, Lecithin, Panthenol, Simethicone, Polysorbate 20, Sorbitan Laurate, Propylene Glycol Laurate, Propylene Glycol Stearate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Diglycol/CHDM/Isophthalates/SIP Copolymer, Polyethylene, Nylon-12, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.  May Contain [+/-: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499), Black 2 (CI 50420)]. **Warnings: ***"Never use if your eye is injured, irritated or infected.  Consult an eye doctor immediately in case of injury.  Always handle and apply in a careful and sanitary manner.  Do not add anything to the mascara or share with others."* The last couple of times I used this mascara I totally omitted the primer and I got better results but still didn't get the length and/or volume I wanted. There are so many mascaras out there that are much, much better than this mascara. My favorite is [The Falsies by Maybelline][1] . There's no sense in buying mascara that may or may not work well for you when you can buy some that will work very well. [1]: http://www.viewpoints.com/Maybelline-The-Falsies-Mascara-review-41a01

Revlon was fantasizing when they hyped this mascara!

**Quick View:** **Revlon Lash Fantasy Primer and Mascara **is a very average product that didn't deliver in its big claims. Primer and mascara in one tube is innovative but neither is very good! **Full View:** I tried **Revlon Lash Fantasy Primer and Mascara** a few months ago. It caught my eye because it is primer and mascara in one and promised HUGE things. Like most drugstore mascaras, the claims were bigger than the performance. This was just average for me and I don't use it. It sits in my make up bin doing nothing these days. **My Experience** This tube has two ends, one white and one black. You use the primer (white end) first then the mascara (black end) over it for supposedly fantastic results. The primer is white, leaving my lashes coated and wet. After applying the primer, I replaced the brush and unscrewed the mascara wand. Because the tube has dual brushes, the wands are shorter than typical mascara ones but it really wasn't a big problem for me. This mascara duo promises "five times the impact, triple the lift, and double the thickness" but of what? Of other mascaras? Of water? From what I could tell, it was somewhere in between the two. My finished lashes looked like normal lashes with a coat of mascara on them. The white primer didn't show through but I certainly didn't get the magnificent results that this mascara duo was claiming it would. The ability to have the primer and mascara together is something I like but not at the expense of dramatic, long, thick lashes. I didn't see any volume, just darkening and some lengthening. I didn't notice much flaking or running when I wore this but, still, I wasn't impressed enough to continue wearing **Revlon Lash Fantasy Primer and Mascara**. **My Viewpoint** **Revlon Lash Fantasy Primer and Mascara** is convenient for those who like to wear primer before applying mascara. It adds color and some length to lashes but it doesn't give all that lift and volume that Revlon promises. It's actually a very average duo and I didn't note that the primer did anything to boost the mascara's performance. I used the mascara alone and it looked the same to me. If you want an outstanding drugstore mascara, I would go with Cover Girl Lash Exact Mascara (See my review on that on this site).*** I give this product 3 stars and don't recommend it. ***There's much better out there in a similar price range.

Dandruff Lashes!

Don't buy this mascara! One end is the "primer" that you are supposed to apply first. The other side is the mascara, which goes on after the primer. The primer is white in color and the problem I had was that even after applying a coat of the mascara, you could see some white from the primer. Trying to get the black coat of mascara to cover all of the primer has been an almost impossible task. It looks as if I have dandruff on my lashes! I would definitely skip this product; it is the worst mascara I've ever tried.

This mascara by revlon lash fantasy is interesting

Revlon made this lash fantasy mascara as a double sided mascara. This is in the color blackest black. This is a two step mascara. The first step is a white color mascara. Well it is more like a primer, it lenghtens and nourished the lashes, and preps them for the colored mascara. I guess the primer is also what makes the mascara last longer on your lashes. Then you have the second step which is the color mascara. The blackest black really is a dark black. I love the applicator brush, it is a plastic applicator which I find easy to clean if you need to clean it up for whatever reason. It also combs through evry lash, applying color evenly to all lashes. Both the primer and mascara have the plastic applicator. I like the mascara container, it is super sleek and cool looking. I would repurchase this, and actually have repurchased this, because it works for me, and there have been reports that you need to change your mascara every couple of months.

Revlon's Lash Fantasy lives up to its name!

I have tried about every kind of mascara there is and have not been totally happy with any one of them.... until I tried Revlon's Lash Fantasy. It has a white primer on one end and a black final coat on the other end. The primer coats the lashes so that they will "accept" the black final coat. It makes short, thin lashes appear fuller. You apply the primer making your lashes white. You apply a thin coat of black over the white, and you truly do have fantasy lashes! Just remember - more is not better. More will result in clumping. You need only a thin coat to have those fantasy lashes promised.

Revlon Lash Fantasy Mascara , I love it!!

I an most to department stores make up brands. I love Estree Lauder, Lancome and so fort but for some reason I have not been able to find a mascara that I like in any of those department store brand names. I have tried many different brand and styles and finally I found one that I have stuck to for years. I do like the Revlon brand name and that is one of the reasons when I bought this mascara int he first place. I wanted a name I could trust and a good price and quality. So I got this Revlon Lash Fantasy Mascara and I fell in love. I like that you firstput on the primer that gives your lashes a thicker longer look and then after that you put on the mascara color. This mascara comes on smooth and it gives your lashes a beautiful look. I like that is does not give you any clumbs or smears. it just come one so great. I also like that it many times goes on sale so you can get it to a very good price. I love the Revlon name you can trust it and this mascara works great!

Great for thin eyelashes.

Revlon's Lash Fantasy mascara (blackest black) is great for those of us who wish our lashes were a bit fuller and longer.  I feel that black mascara is the most defining color for my eyes, so I have been happy with this color, but it is the primer/first coat that really makes all the difference.  I was unsure at first at how well it would work as the first coat seemed a bit thick.  I thought it would be clumpy, but really it is not.  It adds a great thickening layer for the black second layer to stick to. My eyelashes do not stick together, as frequently happens with other "thickening" mascaras, and they really do appear thicker and longer without appearing unnatural. I have not had a problem with "clumping," either. I have tried many (many, many) other brands of mascara, most of which were major disappointments---they either did not do enough or they were too sticky and clumpy to be attractive.  This is the mascara I will purchase every time I need it.
