Revlon ColorStay Lip Color Review

Revlon Color Stay lip color is a lip stick that is meant to stay on the lips for a long period of time.  Does the product match its claims.  Yes, but not necessarily in a good way.  To be quite honest the color does stay but after you are wearing it a bit, it seems as if your lips have been actually dyed or colored, like someone soaked some food coloring on to them or something.  It is actually quite odd.  But yes the color is still there.  This whole affect works fine if you are using a natural shade, or a very light neutral shade.  The whole dying affect might not be so bad, except that most of us have little wrinkles for lack of a better word on our lips, and the coloring gets in there and makes them really stand out, this is not an attractive sight.  I you are going to use this make sure your lips are really smooth, and avoid the richer deeper colors.

Revlon Color Stay lip color stay comes in several different colors but there are 3 color types that you can choose from:

Neutrals
Deeps
Brights

Personally with this lipstick I would stick with the neutrals, with the strong dying affect the deeps could stain your lips really dar, and I fear that the Brights could make your lips look like an Easter egg.  I haven't actually tried them so that is just a guess, I actually used a neutral color, which wasn't too bad, but I actually saw the whole lip dye affect.

Revlon color Stay Lip color costs around $7.99, is about average these days for this type of lipstick. But hey it stays on all day so it must be a bargain right? The size of the tube is .06 ounces which I would say is between small and average size for this type of product.

I did all kinds of tests with this lip stick after giving it a little time, it did not come off on cloth, it did not come off when I drank, and it did not come off when I went dancing despite the fact that I got a little glissony. So it does have great staying power.

In conclusion I would have to say that for a night out dancing or something where you might be out for a while and would like your lip color to stay with you throughout the evening, I would say that this is a good choice because it does stay on, and the dye affect is not really that noticable in low lighting.  However, I would not choose this lip stick for daytime use, especially under office lighting, where you can see every detail of someones lips. 

It meets its claims, and is reasonably priced, but it does look like it dyes your lips.
