Quick View: I used to pay a fortune to have my stylist color my hair or touch up my roots. Now, I do roots myself and generally don't color my hair often. But the roots! They come in fast and they come in lighter than my hair as well as peppered with gray. I will never allow gray to peek out on MY head so I have to touch up my roots a LOT. I have found, after exhaustive research, that Revlon ColorSilk Ammonia-Free Permanent Haircolor is better for my hair and the color lasts longer than any other at home hair color I have tried - including salon hair colors from beauty supply stores.

After using several different at home hair color products my hair had become very dry. Color Silk offers a more gentle product with VERY nice looking color. It does not seem to cover the gray for as long as other products, but it is so gentle that you can use it more often if needed without the worry of damaging your hair. I really like the Dark Warm Brown. It is a very pretty (and shiney) deep warm brown.
