I have had my set of Revereware pots & pans for roughly ten years.  I received it as a Christmas gift one year from my father.  At first, I was miffed.  As time has gone on, I have been pleased & appreciative.  The tri-ply refers to a disc of heavy gauge aluminium wraped in stainless steel.  This is fused to the bottom of the stainless steel pans.  The advantage of this base on the pans is that is creates a surface that heats very evenly.  These pots & pans heat as evenly as the more familiar copper-bottomed pans from Revere, but have a heavier bottom that is useful when cooking at a high heat.  The draw back to these pans is that the tri-ply disc is about 1" narrower in diameter than the rest of the pan.  This can cause hot spots at the outer edge of the pan.  This won't cause too much trouble except when cooking with milk (making white sauce, cheese sauce, hot chocolate, etc.), vigilant stirring will compensate.

My set is 10 pieces:  1, 2, & 3 quart sauce pans with lids.  A steamer insert for that fits the 2 & 3 quart pans, a 5 quart dutch oven and a 10" frying pan/skillet.  The dutch oven & fry pan/skillet share a lid.  The 2 & 3 quart pans can be stacked to use as a double boiler.  The handles of the saucepans & skillet all have handing loops so they may be hung from a pot rack or peg board.  I just checked online and  the set no longer includes the 3 quart pan with lid or the steamer insert.  This disappoints me, because the steamer insert is very handy and it is difficult to find an affordable 2 quart capacity double boiler.  The current price is close to what my larger set cost 10 years ago.  I suspect the company made the choice to reduce the number of pieces rather than increase the price.

If you are considering this line of cookware, I would suggest you examine the pans well because they are not as good as they used to be. Revereware used to be very heavy bottomed with even heat distribution and be pretty decent cookware. My mom passed down one of her Revere pan to me some years ago and I liked it because she always had it, but then when we bought our own set, I was so disappointed I could not stand it.

Not only did the cookware perform so poorly that food tasted badly, but the handles came off easily too.

We ended up replacing our cookware with Neova waterless cookware which we LOVE and have used very often with much better results.

Doesn't Stick
Food burns on the bottom, hot spots and is very easily burned onto the surface of the pan no matter how low the heat goes.

Heat Distribution
TERRIBLE hot spots and uneven cooking. One of the most disappointing features of this cookware is that food cooks so unevenly that it is not delicious or appealing. I threw a lot of food away when using this cookware.

Ease of Handling
Handles come off, bottoms have to be scrubbed constantly, and then you have to clean the copper bottom ones on top of that too.

Ease of Cleaning
Copper bottoms have to be shined, the insides have to be scrubbed often as food often burned on in spots, and the surface gets scratched easily.

Durability
Handles fell off a lot of our pans and lids and some of the pans warped in spite of being very careful with them.

Easy to use, A Breeze to Clean!

By

Comments about Revere Cookware (Various pieces):

Revere Cookware is always a great choice when it comes to cookware. No matter what piece you pick, I can guarantee it will perform with perferfection. The pieces are very attractive and will fit any decor. There are a variety of sizes to choose from, so you can personally customize your set of Revere Cookware to suit your tastes and needs. Foods will not stick while cooking, and remove easily from the pieces. The heat distribution is even and cooks foods to perfection, and performs well on any stove top, be it ceramic, gas, electric, etc. The cookware is easy to handle, heavy duty enough to stand up to everyday cooking, but light enough to pick up by the handle(s), without straining or hurting your hands, wrists, or arms. I am persuaded this cookware will give you years of valuable service without any problems, but the manufacturer also provides a good warranty in case you encounter any problems. Their customer service is always available, and the customer service representatives are always friendly and helpful.

Quality & Durability

By

Comments about Revere Cookware (Various pieces):

I purchased a large skillet that was a Revere cookware brand after hearing my Mother say great things about the Revere company. I have used my skillet regularly for about 10 months now and can attest to its quality and durability. The non stick surface works wonderfully and has not peeled or been easy to scratch. The pan has a nice handle that is easy to hold and is comfortable, even when carrying full one handed. I have washed this skillet by hand, as well as ran it through the dishwasher and it is easy to clean both ways. The heat distribution is great and I have had no problem with the handle coming loose or the pan becoming unlevel at all, which has happened with other similar cookware. I like the large capacity that this holds, as I often make skillet type meals that combine all ingredients in one pan. Overall, I would recommend Revere cookware to others, as I have been extremely pleased with this piece from their collection.

22 years of constant use and still looks great!

Comments about Revere Cookware (Various pieces):

I received a small Revere saucepan as a wedding shower gift 22 years ago and I still use it almost daily. It has not warped and it doesn't even look that worn, with the exception of the copper bottom being discolored. It can get the bottom nice and shiny again if I take the time to. The lid still fits perfectly, nothing seems to have warped at all, even though it has on occasion found it's way into the dishwasher. I like that the fastening device for the handle is not protruding on the inside of the pan as this is an annoying feature of my Calaphlon cookware. This pan always seems to clean up well even if something scorches on the bottom. I also did have a Revere tea kettle. It lasted about 18 years or so and then started leaking around the bottom seam, which was disappointing. Overall I would recommend Revere cookware and will consider buying a complete set of it when it's time to replace my current cookware.

No teflon means no peeling.

By

from USA

Comments about Revere Cookware (Various pieces):

The pans heat evenly and will last a lifetime because they do not have teflon. But because of no teflon or non stick coating it makes eggs difficult. I like these durable pans for other items like spaghetti sauce or stews, it makes clean up a breeze.

Doesn't Stick
These pans are not coated with a non stick material. Eggs will stick. They are better for soups, stews and sauces

Heat Distribution
These pans heat as even as your heat source so not great for pancakes or eggs. They are great for soups, stews and sauces.

Ease of Handling
The handles are sturdy and coated so no burning and because of the rounded end, no slipping. They are also not so heavy that when full of an item it breaks your wrist if you are trying to carry the pan to another area of the kitchen, or pour from the pan.

Ease of Cleaning
The best feature is the east of cleaning. The posts clean up shiny and the bottoms on the outside can be scrubbed up clean so that you can hang and display your pans. Because of the lack of non stick you can feel free to use a more abrasive scrubber to clean them.

Design
Because of the light design compared to many of the newer heavier pans out there it makes it easier to carry one handed or pour one handed without causing pain or stress to your wrists. they are also attractive for displaying on a pan rack.

Durability
I have never worn out a Revere ware anything. I think these pans have the heirloom quality, you will be able to hand them down to your grandchildren.

Comments about Revere Cookware (Various pieces):

Called to have my frying pan replaced today only to find they wont warranty it. Its less than 25 years old and still covered under the warranty however they now make up stuff to keep from replacing it. Don't buy Revere Ware or from shopworldkitchen.com they are a rip off.

Revere is a Great Value!

By

from Myrtle Beach, SC

Comments about Revere Cookware (Various pieces):

I recently puchased 2 Revere stainless steel sauce pans, 1 1/2 qt and 2 1/2 qt with the lids. I love them! These are the best pots I have ever owned and will be going out to purchase more as soon as I can. They cook great and clean up like a breeze. I have had mine for about a year now and they look like brand new. They are so well made and are just a great value for the money.

They don't stick.

By

from Carrollton, KY

Comments about Revere Cookware (Various pieces):

My grandmother had Revere Ware. It was expensive back then and it still is. But the pots and pans last forever, they don't stick, they are heavy and hold heat well. The only thing is the newer sets don't have copper bottoms.

Revere Cookware with Tri-ply Bottom works well year after year

Revere Cookware - Still in great shape-after 40 years use

By

from Roseville, MI

Comments about Revere Cookware (Various pieces):

I still have my set of Revere Cookware (non teflon) after 40 years of weekly use.  I have gone through many sets of "teflon" etc. and still use Revere Cookware weekly. I cannot say if the pieces they make today are as well made as the ones I have though. They are just as easy to clean as any telfon pot or pan. I have really burned some food in these too, but all I did was put a little dish soap with some water in the pan and let it simmer for a few minutes. Still after all these years I have "no stains" inside my pans. Although the bottoms do looked "cooked in", they look just the same as the bottoms of the other pans I have used for a much shorter time. I do cook with a gas stove, so that is expected though.
