Most HelpfulI am never one to turn down a free meal, or even getting one for a bargain deal. When I joined Viewpoints, I quickly became the recipient of the Simple Thanks Award (again, thank you Viewpoints for the incredible gesture!) and was rewarded with a gift certificate to Restaurant.com. Quite honestly, I...

Most HelpfulI have a $25 certificate at restaurants.com. Actually, it may have expired by now. I have not been able to use it for a variety of reasons. So, there's some money down the drain which is probably how the site is able to offer low prices to those who can use these restaurant coupons.
The first issue is...

I am always the one who comes up with the deals and steals, as well as discounts on many of our field trips and play dates, like my BOGO coupon for the Butterfly Center. Restaurant.com is one of those sites I kept hearing about but thought surely had to be a "scam" or too good to be true.
When I received a message from a friend that told me they were selling $25.00 credits for $4.00 I thought, "Ok, I can find out for myself." Now I visit Restaurant.com, every...
read full review »In July I received a Simple Thanks award. It came as an on-line gift certificate from Restaurant.com. It was a lovely surprise and a welcome treat. It allowed us a $25.00 discount on a meal. It was available from several restaurants in our area. We chose Pasta Cucina and we were thrilled with the choice.
You, too, can gift someone tthrough Restaurant.com. Just go to their web site, pick an amount you wish to give, and ask them to send an email to the person of choice. For a $25.00 gift certificate your credit card will be charged $10.00. The recipient simply goes to the link provided in their email,...
read full review »On the first glance, this place looks like it has a great deal. What? Get a $25 gift certificate to a popular restaurant for a bargain price? I think so!!
Unfortunately, like all great things, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
Let's start with the basics:
This isn't a gift certificate. A gift certificate would be more useful. Instead you are obligated to follow a set of guidelines or the whole thing is invalid. Usually, that is a minimum purchase. For example, all of a sudden that $25 gift certificate has to be used on a dinner that costs more than $35.
What? At that point it's...
read full review »Warning: restaurant.com refuses to remove restaurants from its website which customers report are no longer accepting gift certificates (coupons). They have no problem selling GCs to such restaurants however.
An example is:
I reported months ago that they would not accept it anymore but restaurant.com has not removed it. I even called back and asked why and they said restaurant has not told them to no longer accept but they have no issue with giving credit for restaurants not accepting them anymore. I had to pay full price...

I live in a suburb of the Seattle area and thought there would be a lot of options in there for places that are popular around here, and there really weren't. I ended up settling on a Chinese restaurant that I never got the chance to try out. The deal of the certificate was great and I'm satisfied with my purchase - I'm just adding a buyer beware if you think there will be a lot of places in there you go to, just make sure you check...
