Not that great.

Resolve Carpet Cleaner is nothing special. I just don't seem to have good luck with Resolve products, it seems. They are such a big brand but I don't understand why because none of their products have amazed me or even slightly impressed me. I had Resolve Carpet Cleaner, Original, around just in case I had any spills on my light carpet. I've tried it numerous times and it's never impressed me at all. I put the product on my stain and followed the instructions as directed. The stain came up somewhat but not much. I applied it a second time hoping for better results but it didn't really change the stain much. Not only was it on effective but the scent of the product is gross. It smells very chemical like and the scent remains for quite a while afterward. I don't like having a room smell like chemicals for 24 hours. I tried Resolve Carpet Cleaner, Original a few more times but it just never really did much for any of the stains I tried to clean up. They weren't severe stains or anything. I don't recommend this product. It's not that great and smells horrible.

Not as expected

I bought this product to get some light dirt stains out of my carpets. I really wasn't expecting much, just trying to brighten up the carpets and remove the light traffic area. This product did not work well, and would not even remove the lightest of stains. I have used other products that worked well, but I had a coupon for this so I would give it a try. I would not spend the money on this, as it doesn't work at all. The odor is very strong and doesn't have a pleasant smell at all. Performance This product does not work well at all. It will not even remove the lightest dirt stains from carpets or rugs. It leaves a light ring on the carpet that shows when it drys. This product isn't worth spending any money on at all. Scent This product has a horrible scent and leaves a smell that lingers. This is probably the worst smell I have experienced with a cleaning product. I would not recommend this product, it doesn't smell good and does not work well either.

A good carpet cleaner

4

I have only tried Resolve carpet cleaner a couple times before. It is a good carpet cleaner. I like the fact I can use Resolve carpet cleaner on fabric as well. Although Resolve does a good job at helping removing stains, I had bought it only once. There are cheaper carpet/fabric cleaners that are on the market today, that can do just as good of a job as Resolve does. Performance I have use Resolve carpet cleaning to remove red juice stains from my beige carpet that my three year old son had spilled. It did a good job at removing the red stain off of my carpet. I actually think it did too good of a job, because the spot I cleaned looks cleaner then all the other carpet in my house. I have also used the carpet cleaner on my couch cushions. My son had gotten sick and vomited all over the couch. The smell was unbearable. I was quite surprised that Resolve not only cleaned then puke off of my couch, but it also removed the horrible smell from the cushions. Scent The scent of Resolve carpet cleaner does not of that overbearing smell, like some cleaners have today. The scent is quite pleasant and makes my carpet and fabric smell great.

Resolve didn't work quite as well as I had hoped

3

Perhaps I was hoping (or expecting) too much, but the results I experienced while using the Resolve carpet cleaner were somewhat disappointing. I used the Resolve carpet cleaner on various spots and stains and for the most part it did very little to remove or eliminate them. The first time I used this product was when one of my children spilled his juice on the living room carpet. I followed the directions step for step and hoped for the best. Sadly, the stain was still rather visible even after waiting thirty minutes and applying a second coverage. It just didn't provide a deep clean. It cleaned much of the surface stain but the deeper stain was still visible. This was a little disappointing. I was equally as disappointed (and a little frustrated) when I used the cleaner for a second time, this time on a coffee stain. The results were very similar to my first use. Perhaps I was expecting a little to much and hoping for some miracle cleaner that would restore my carpeting to brand new appearances. Unfortunately, it just didn't happen. As a result I ended up putting this cleaner at the back of the cupboard, long to be forgotten. Another negative for me personally was the scent. The Resolve carpet cleaner does have quite a powerful and pungent smell that lingers for quite sometime after usage. It left my carpet smelling of chemicals. Overall, I was underwhelmed by the performance. I suppose this cleaner would be satisfactory for very light or minor surface spills, but if you are looking for a spot cleaner that will completely eliminate those tougher, deep stains, this is not the product for you.

Carpet Saver

Between our dog and our, now toddler, our carpet never seemed to have a chance until I started using Resolve carpet cleaner to take care of the messes they made. I have tried other carpet products but this seems to be the best overall cleaner that can handle a wide array of problems. Baby spit up, formula, milk and juice are the most common issues we have in the house now. As a baby our daughter spit up quite a bit when she had her tummy time. Now that she's been walking for about a year she takes her sippy cup all over the house dropping it and here and there causing a little mess now and then. As with any mess made on the carpet how you initially handle is crucial no matter what cleaner you use. You must blot stains, do not rub them. Once you have gotten up the excess liquid apply the resolve foam after shaking can thoroughly. Let it sit for about five minutes or so then blot up the cleaner. Once it dries vacuum. For tougher stains you may have to repeat this process a couple times. We have a beige colored carpet and have been able to get out all of our stains so far and the cleaner also takes care of the smells too.

Decent

I have found the Resolve Carpet Cleaner to be one of those middle of the road products. Sometimes it works well on carpet stains, and other times, it does not seem to be effective at all. The smell is also stronger than I would prefer and seems to linger after you have tried to spot clean a certain area on your carpet. It has not proven to be all that effective at old, set in stains (perhaps the small spot of cat throw up you find hidden under the bed or something), but every once in a while, it will surprise me with getting up a fresh, but dark, stain. The price is pretty decent for what you get, and Resolve products are widely available at most local brick and mortar stores, so if it does work well for you, at least it is easy to find and available at a decent price. I have tried to transition to less smelly cleaners, which was my biggest dislike about this particular product.

Comparable to Spot Shot but My Favorite Cleaner

4

After years of using the Spot Shot product on my carpets, I wanted to find a cheaper alternative as the cost of the cans was becoming costly and with pets and light carpets, my household was going through multiple cans in a week. A friend recommended this brand and I was able to find it pretty cheap at a local store so I brought home a few cans. I don't think I've ever been so happy with a cheaper, alternative product than this product. The cans, which come in a fair size, last for weeks and handle some of our toughest stains. Every time we use this product, the spot that we use it on disappears and we can never find it again. Its a very simple product to use. We normally take the lid off, spray the stain, let the resolve soak for a few minutes on the stain, and then take a towel or paper towels and pat the spot. I believe your supposed to vacuum the spot but we pat it and after a few pats of a towel, the stain is lifted and no longer on the carpet but on the rag, towel, or whatever you prefer to use. It's even good for spray all over the carpet and vacuuming over as it gives the carpet a new, fresh smell, and helps lift tiny stains. Other products have bleached spots on the carpet and left the outline of the stain still imprinted but not this product. It doesn't harm the carpet color or leave an imprint of a stain ever being there. It's also very easy on bare skin and doesn't cause any break outs or rashes. A very good product overall. Very happy with this. Performance Works as good as more expensive brands. Scent Leaves a clean fresh smell that covers up any stain. Also good for using on allover carpet.

Didn't clean as expected

3

My carpets are in fairly good condition, and I do have a steam cleaner that I try to use at least once a year.  However, I still have ongoing issues with the high traffic areas of our carpeting.  The carpet always looks a little dirty and flattened down.  Resolve carpet cleaner makes quite a few claims that are prettyy impressive when standing in the cleaning aisle of my grocery store.  Do they hold up?  Well, let's see.  It claims to protect carpeting and keep it from becoming stained.  It removes tough "ground in" dirt.  It cleans and deodorizes my carpeting.  Those are the main claims that drew me in. The smell is not one I would call refreshing, and I didn't really notice any "deodorizing".  I didn't really have ground in dirt because I vacuum my carpeting several times a week, but I did have soiled carpet from high traffic areas.  This cleaner didn't really improve them as I had hoped it would.  It did work on light stains, and carpeting that wasn't quite as flattened.  I would recommend this for spot cleaning, but not for heavy traffic areas that are tougher to clean.  I leave those to my steam cleaner, even though it is more of a pain to get out and use.   Performance Didn't work well on my stains, disappointed. Better for spot cleaning. Scent Not a fan of this scent, and it is not at all fresh scented in my opinion

Great for high traffic areas

5

I'm pretty anal about clean carpets.  I vacuum my place a lot and really don't like it when there are black spots on my carpet.  I am always pleasantly surprised by this product.  I do vacuum quite a bit and use this stuff pretty often, but it always works for me.  I get these black spots on my carpet from shoes and overall dirtiness but this stuff always takes the spots out and leaves the carpet clean.  You have to vacuum before you use it and after it dries which takes a few hours.  You spray this foam and work it into the carpet in two directions with a damp towel and it doens't take very long for the stain to disappear. This product does not work very well with spot cleaning such as dog messes or spills but is great for high traffic areas.  I use it in my entry way often and have never been disappointed.  Honestly I'm always worried that those black and dark spots are going to be there forever but this stuff works great!

It didn't clean!

2

We got a puppy recently, and puppies have a lot of accidents.  Pretty soon my carpet and rugs were looking and smelling pretty awful.  I cleaned them as best I could with soap and water, but quickly realized that I needed something stronger.  Resolve was the first thing I thought of, because it is pretty well the standard nationally known brand of carpet cleaner. I went ahead and paid full price for it, because I wanted something that I knew would work and wouldn't stain the carpet.  I should have gotten the off-brand, that probably would have worked (or in this case, not worked) as well as this stuff did. I followed the directions on the spray can, because that stuff can be tricky.  Even with following the directions, however, I am left with a big stain on my carpet; it covered up the stain that was there from the puppy piddle, but it was spread out even further.  I thought that the stain might just be because the carpet was damp, but a full month later the stain is still there.  It looks like a huge grease spot on a shirt.   I will certainly try something other than Resolve next time!
