I will go on record as a Denis Leary fan. I loved his last TV series, the too short lived The Job, which appeared for one measly season on ABC in 2001-2002. That show, about a burned out NYC cop, was a comedy that just didn't suit everyone's tastes. Leary's is an acerbic wit and doesn't appeal to all, even though his observations are usually spot on. In fact, he can be so acid-tongued, folks are often surprised to learn he is a family man. So, after strong initial ratings, The Job fell into ratings hell and ABC quickly abandoned it. Luckily for us, a couple years later the folks...
read full review »After watching about three seasons of Rescue Me commercials, I finally decided to watch an actual episode. To my delight and dismay, it was one of the best shows I had ever seen and tragically, it was the season finale.
The season finale was so good I went straight to Blockbuster online and rented all three seasons so I could catch up in time to watch season 4 when it aired live on TV the next season.
The reason why Rescue Me is one of the best shows I have ever seen is because for one, the characters are perfect. They are realistic people handling realistic problems in life. They...
read full review »There is not enough words that can describe Rescue Me other than Fantastic and you have been missed the past year and a half. The addition of Micheal J Fox to the cast is going to even make this a better season than before.
The eclectic mix of actors and their characters they play are amazing. Even though we know that Tommy Gavin is selfish he is also with heart this is the best work that Denis Leary has ever done.
When watching it, have a tissue because there are the moments where you feel such heaviness in your heart and can actually imagine yourself there when they share stories of firefighting,...

Watching dennis leary has given me a whole new prospective on the responsiblities that they have to deal with. This show has is all laughs, action, suspense at times and of course the sorrow. The death of his son was so heart crushing. watching him deal with the death just tore at your heart. I am also sorry that they have let the captain go. He is surely missed. I just wished they wouldn't have killed him off. But the...
read full review »I watch very few television shows because most are pointless, poorly written and overall stupid. Rescue Me is none of the above. in fact, it is brilliant! I look forward to each new episode. The program goes from serious to humorous in a flash. It is believable. For example, in the April 14 program, witness John Scurti's and Denis Leary's comments about 9-11 to the visiting French writer. Outstanding! Both nailed it. If you are sensitive about your children's television content, this is not the program for you. It is for ADULTS with adult content and language. If you want...
read full review »Rescue me is a wonderful show with great acting. The characters in the firehouse and the women they love are so flawed and yet form a group of people that need each other. The comedy in this show is fresh and rewarding to watch. The main character of course has the most story lines but the crew att he firehouse is what keeps it fresh.
