We thought it would be neat to stay in a historic downtown hotel with all the amenities. What we got was a very small room, probably 14'x14'. At first glance it looked well maintained. However, the bathroom tile was cracked and stained. The sink fixtures were hard to turn and the toilet did not flush well the first night. After the first room cleaning, we came back to the room and the flush handle on the toilet was broken! Obviously the maid broke it and didn't report it. We didn't get back to our room until very late at night and by that time, it was too late to move us to a new room. We didn't get a discount or even an apology for this. Upon first arriving, one elevator was out of order so the other one had to accommodate all guests. Which means it took quite a long time to get down to the lobby. On our last day, both elevators were broke and we had to walk 8 flights of stairs with all our luggage. It was very frustrating. Next time we'll stay in a newer hotel without all the maintenance problems. On the bright side it was a great location within walking distance to many popular places, and the restaurant serves great breakfast. But overall, it wasn't worth the price we paid.
