Remember the Titans is a fantastic sports film about triumph on and off the field.  The movie won 8 awards including a Black Entertainment Television (BET) Award, Broadcast Music, Inc (BMI) Film Music Award, and two Image Awards

Remember the Titans served as a precursor for other movies like Glory Road and The Express, sports films which revisited a time of racial unrest and disparity.  These films highlighted the power of belief and change through some of the most unlikely agents--high school males.  Young boys must learn to stop fighting against each other and work together as a team...

Remember the Titans is a movie to be enjoyed by children and adults of all ages. Whether you’re a football fan or not, the trials and tribulations of the young men, coaches, and community portrayed in this true story will inspire you.

In the 1970's TC Williams high school in Alexandria, Virginia became integrated, with blacks and whites going to school together for the first time. This movie is based on the school’s football team and the controversy surrounding the players and community when Herman Boone (Denzel Washington) becomes the newly appointed head coach, taking...

At first I wasn't too excited since it was a football movie (into real sports not sport movies) but I am glad we got to watch this movie during class. This movie is not like a lot of other sports movies because it has real problematic storylines and a realistic sequence of events. I love how this movie intergrates both the stuggles the team has on and off the field (on the field being the football games while off the field being the struggle the town has with the intergrations of caucasians...

An outstanding film, chronicling the trials and tribulations of a high school football team undergoing forced integration during the early seventies. Based on a real life situation, this movie depicts the racial conflict so prevalent during that era. Denzel Washington is superb in the role of Herman Boone, a black coach taking over the reins of the football team during the first year of racial integration at an all white school. On the path to an unbeaten season, he teaches the team, the school and the community to judge people by their abilities, rather than their skin color. The scene where... read full review »
