I've been reading Sophie Kinsella for several years now.  Although I've grown tired with her Shopaholic series, I have been happy with the other books that she's written like Can You Keep A Secret? and The Undomestic Goddess.  When I saw that she had just released Remember Me?, I immediately added it to my order of books.  I tore through it one evening and found the story entertaining, but easy to figure out.

Remember Me? centers around Lexi Smart, a twenty-eight year old woman who has just woken up in the hospital after a car accident.  She thinks that she is twenty-five and has landed in the hospital after slipping and falling on a rainy night out with her friends.  The doctors inform her that she is suffering from retrograde amnesia, is 28, married, and a very successful director at the carpet company she works for.  Lexi tries to figure out just how she went from 25, single, a lowly junior sales associate, and average appearance to this glamorous and successful woman who is married to a gorgeous multimillionaire.

As she immerses herself in her "new" life, Lexi wonders just how and why her life transformed so much.  She doesn't remember how to do her job nor does she know what her home life with her husband was about.  Her best friends now hate her.   As Lexi lives her new life and learns about the person she was, she finds herself growing uncomfrortable and dissatisfied.  She also meets someone who claims to have some answers about the three-year gap in her memory.

Anyone who has watched movies or read chick-lit knows how the story is going to play out: girl tries to fit into her new life, can't, and eventually leaves it.  Sophie Kinsella creates a character that readers will feel sympathy for and root for.  Although Remember Me? isn't nearly as good as Can You Keep A Secret? or The Undomestic Goddess, it is still much better than any of the follow-ups to Confessions of a Shopaholic.  If you are looking for a fast and fun read, check out Remember Me?
