The atmosphere is typical for a beach side restaurant, large wooden tables and outdoor patio, cafeteria style ordering. I ordered the fish and chips, for $9.95 you expect freshness and quality. The fish was bitter, dark in color and had a strong fish odor...not fresh. Being from Boston, and having ordered fish & chips in England, I have never had the dish served with a dark, pungent fish so did not think to ask what type of fish it came with. I brought the dish back to the window and stated it was inedible, they offered me a new dish with the fish of my choice. I asked what do you have for white fish? The answer was Talapia (cheap fish about 3.99 a pound or orange roughy, another pacific fish that sells for about 4.99 a pound. I opted for the orange roughy. I also order the clam chowder at that time for an additional $4.00. They charged me an additional $6.00 for the cheap white fish. So for Fish and chips, a mediocre cup-o-chowder, and a diet coke it cost me $22.00!! I have visited this place in the past with no complaints which is why I returned. I don't know if they are under new management...but it was lousy all around. I will never return to this pricey, not on the beach, but rather across the highway from the beach with no ocean view, restaurant. Many other on the beach options with much better food at a comparable price!!
