Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide does the job! It does not leave hair feeling greasy or looking oily. One pump is all I need. I apply to my hair starting with ends and then applying the remainder to top. It is the best product I have ever bought for my hair. It is a great detangler and helps mend split ends. I like to use a flat iron and blow it out straight. The smooth down controls all the fly aways that happens with hair styling. Plus this products gives my hair a nice shine, too. I use it for finishing my hair. This product keeps my hair soft and silky like nothing i've ever tried before! It improves the result of the heat-styling too. it feels more coated and protected and also makes it easier. it doesn't even feel like my hair! Maybe because I color treat my hair, it is rather dry and frizzy. When I blow dry my hair, I am looking smooth, frizz-free layers. For the price, it is a great buy. If there are a few stray frizzies after blow drying, I finish off with a pea-size amount Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide.

I decided to try Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide because it was in the clearance bin at my salon. I really like the coconutty smell! I have thin hair but a lot of it, and my hair dries out a lot as well. I used this product a few times before I used it in conjunction with the Redken Smooth Down Conditioner. Once I did this, I found that my hair was too greasy -- even if I used less product. I think it was because my hair isn't thick enough for this product. I did find it easy to use, and it made my hair for the most part silky smooth. But do be careful and avoid overuse of this product, unless you don't mind if your hair looks like you haven't washed it in a few months! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has thick hair. As always, if you get the complete product line, you will have a better chance of getting the outcome that you expect and want out of a quality line of hair products.

I've tried other heat protectors and some of the pray types really were not working well on my hair.  They were giving my hair a velcro feel after I flat ironed, and my hair would stick together.  The Redken Heatglide solved that problem all together. A silicone based product, Heatglide comes in an easy to use pump and has a thick, glossy consistency.  A little goes a long way (be careful not to use too much or else your hair will be sticky), and just rub it along your strands.  Whenever I use it, I get a nice sheen from the product and my hair never has that burnt smell you can sometimes get with flat ironing. I've also found that the product works well for frizz prevention.  It basically has the same ingredients as the more expensive Sabino Moisture block, so I use the products interchangeably.   The packaging is beautiful and makes dispensing the product very simple.  I highly recommend this if you're looking to protect your hair against heat.  Good for all hair types, except perhaps very fine hair.

Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide is the best product I have found to smooth frizzies. I put one drop in when my hair is wet ,then blow dry with my round brush. The add 1 more drop when completly dry and continue with my flat ironing.  It makes my hair shiny and more healthy looking. I have colored and highlighted hair and heat glide adds just the touch that I need for my dry hair. I also like the fact that I can add more during the day if I find my hair is  becoming frizzy again. Then again, be careful not to add to much. Adding too much will make your hair oily and grungy. All you need for normal hair is 1-3 drops total ... It is excellent for these humid days here in Florida. I would recommend this product to anyone that has problems with frizzy, dry or chemically treated hair. It is truly something I cannot live without. Redken has been around for years and is a well trusted brand that I can depend on.

Redken's Heat Glide is a great product for those who have normal to thick hair. It is sensibly packaged in an amber plastic bottle with a pump that dispenses a good amount of product with each use. For my hair (above the shoulders), a pump and a half is usually enough. The actual product is quite thick and similar to Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum, but I find that the consistency is a bit thicker and does not smell as fruity as the Paul Mitchell. It also does a much better job of protecting my hair, which is reasonable as Super Skinny Serum is not meant to be a heat protectant. Heat Glide provides hair with ample protection as well as shine, and can be used as a shine serum after flat ironing or heat styling the hair. Consumers with fine hair who fear lack of volume should be wary. My hair has a normal to thick texture, but for those who need all the volume they can get should stay away. Do not apply too much product or else your hair will feel greasy.

I was excited to try this product as have used the Smooth Down shampoo and conditioner for years and was happy with the quiality of both. Unless you have coarse, hard to manage or dry hair, I wouldn't recommend this product as its very heavy and left my hair with a heavy residue. Will tame your hair, but even a little goes a long way.

I have thick hair that is a little bit wavy but frizzes easily. It's color damaged, so if I use heat on it, even a hair dryer, it looks fried. This serum makes my hair soft and smooth, even with just a hair dryer. If I flat iron it after blow drying it, it looks amazing. The ends look moist, and it doesn't frizz or dry out. This is the best heat treatment I've used so far. Also, I can use a lot and it has never made my hair look greasy.
