Redken Align 12 Ultra Straight Balm is a good product for those with thick, heavy, dense, or frizzy hair. It is definitley too heavy for those with thin or fine hair and possibly to heavy even for those with regular thickness or density hair. Its great that you can use Redken Align 12 Ultra Straight Balm on wet or dry hair so you can put it on before you blow dry and if your hair still looks frizzy you can add another little dollop. A great Redken product for those that find Redken Align 12 Ultra Straight Balm too heavy is Outshine. It is very similar to Align but is lighter and less oily. Since this is such a heavy product a little goes a long way so a bottle will last a very long time. Depending on your hair you may only need a single pump.Redken products are a salon only brand but they are in the mid price range. Many mall salons carry Redken products and they often have deals like buy one get one half off.

I love this product! I love the smell of it. It makes me feel rich and like a princess. I also love what it does to my locks. I do have fairly straight hair already, but when I use this redken product, I do see a difference (and everyone else can too!) If I use a flat iron after, I get an even more dramatic effect. The product is very lotion like and is amazing and straightening hair. It is super easy to use that even my six year old would not have any problems applying it.  It is also good at protecting your hair from frizz (unless of course you live in the South like I do where the humidity is terrible and NOTHING can help you...). One downside of this redken product is the cost. It is rather pricy, but if it does the job, it's worth spending a little extra instead of wasting your money on products you're not sure are going to work or not. I will definitely be purchasing this product again for the future.

My hair is often unmanageable.  It is long and prone to damage.  When it dries naturally, it is straight on top and curly/wavy underneath (thank you pregnancy!).  Therefore, the only style that I can wear is straight.  I was at a salon, and decided to try this product.  I normally look for a great bargain, but I decided to go on a limb and pay full price for this product.  I fell in love with it instantly, and would say that it is one product that I would pay full price for!  The best part about the straight balm is the smell.  That is very important to me as I am married and want my hair to smell good when we are close!  It does the job as well, in that it really makes make hair straight and beautiful.  It does last a long time as well.  I typically use it for special occasions and not on a daily basis, and it has lasted over a year.  I would definitely buy this product again, and would recommend it to anyone who wants super straight hair!

i love love love this product. beware!! a little goes a long way. i made that mistake the first time i used it and my hair ended up looking ultra greasy.  use a dime size amount or less (my hair is shoulder length) and it works perfectly.  my hair is extremely curly and it really helps to make it straight and keep it down through out the day. pair this would a good hair dryer and flat iron and your hair will be perfect.

This Redken Straightening balm was first introduced to me in a sample, but I went out and bought it right away afterwards because I was impressed!! It comes in great packaging--pump so you don't have to try to open caps or squeeze out of tubes.  It provides lasting protection and style for your hair and smells good too. I use it once in the morning to prepare for the day, may add a little extra at night if I am going out, depending on how long I plan to be out.  It is great at keeping the humiditiy out, so your hair doesn't get too frizzy.My hair looks healthy all day.  I believe the alot of Redken products are becoming available in more stores, whereas it was a little hardet to find before.  Also can get good prices for their products on the internet.   Only downside is price-- depending on how much you're willing to spend on haircare-- there are other products on the market that may be "more affordable" options, but I am not sure how well they work in comparison.

This product did deliver. After shampoo, towel dry, I worked this product into my hair. I finger combed then hooked up the blow dryer. Wow! I have volume in my very long, very heavy straight hair. I loved the little lift at the roots. I usually have a problem with baby hairs by my face and ears, this time, not! I've been using Garnier to help with with problem. Now I've switched! Wow, again!

I like my hair best when it is straightened via a hair straightener.  A lot of times I will just blowdry my hair and then when it is just barely damp I will use a hair straightener without any product.  I thought I'd try the Redken Align 12 Ultra Straight Balm to see how it worked.  I put it on my hair after it has air dried for a quite awhile.  I absolutely LOVE the smell of it! I feel like I have just gone to the salon every time I put it on and it gives me that boost of confidence.  I then use a hair straightener to straighten my hair.  I have not noticed any difference in how my hair turns out between when I do and do not use this product.  For that reason, it is not really worth purchasing, however I am not disappointed in it simply because I feel so special when I use it.  I would say that it is worth getting if you can get it on sale or for a discount for a special treat, but it is not a miracle product.

I have very long straight hair that is thick and can get a little frizzy at times.  So when I saw this new product I decided to give it a go.  I was familiar with the brand and respected the name brand, so I wasn't concerned that it would not work.  But like so many other beauty products I have tried I was right to be skeptical.  Maybe my hair is considered more than "medium hair" as it says on the package. This did nothing for my hair.  It looks the same with the product on and without the product on.  I have used other straighteners in the past and been satisfied but not this brand.  I didn't keep the friz away and it didn't add any shin or sheen to my hair.   I think it is a waste of money and I will not be buying this again.  It will make me skeptical of this product name in the future also.  Save your money and go with the more inexpensive straightener brand you may have more success and be satisfied

There's nothing quite like grabbing a handful of my own hair, holding it to my face and inhaling deeply.  This is not something I do publicly, mind, but like dancing to the music in headphones or laughing out loud at a Dave Barry book, it's one of life's solitary pleasures. Of course, the first criterion when choosing a styling product is what it does to the look and feel of hair.  Redken Align 12 Straightening Balm really works the kinks and coarseness out of mine, yet not only doesn't leave it limp, but builds in some nice, bouncy body.   Being a Redken salon product, it's more costly that drugstore brands, and I have to use a pump for each section of my thick, long hair.  But I've tried, and been disappointed by, enough less-expensive brands to realize now that I should have just put the money into what I know works...and this is it. Be on the lookout for specials.  I go to a Jean Louis David salon in Manhattan (a budget-friendly chain place) where there always seems to be some Redken promotion or other.  Just stock up then.

Redken Align 12 Ultra Straight Balm is the most effective and easiest hair straightener that I have ever found. I'm not particularly talented at hair styling and have tried many different products in an attempt to make my long hair silky-straight rather than the slightly wavy frizziness that it otherwise tends toward. However, most products that I've tried have either left my hair still mostly wavy/frizzy or have required far more work than I am willing to go through on a daily basis in order to make my hair straight. Redken Align 12 is easy enough for even me to manage -- you just rub a dollop into your palms and then run your hands through your damp hair. Plus, it's very forgiving of any minimal and/or haphazard styling tendencies and makes my hair smooth & straight even after my typical rushed styling routine of flat-ironing only about a third of my hair while it's still mostly damp. In addition, it leaves my hair soft and without any of the product-stiffness that I detest in so many other hair-styling products. It is a bit pricier than your typical drugstore straightener, but I seem to need much less of it to produce much more effective results than the drugstore straighteners I've tried, so it definitely seems like a better value overall to me.
