Redken ALL SOFT Review

I began using Redken products about 5 years ago because my hair stylist had used the So Long shampoo on my hair and I loved the way it felt and looked afterwards. After they discontinued this type, my sister suggested trying the All Soft and I have loved it equally as much. I had colored my hair and done a lot of damage, but after about 6 months of use, it had fully recovered and looked and felt great. It was shiny again and had regained it's elasticity.

I still highlight my hair and it protects and continues to maintain the shine and silkiness without making the color fade. I also henna my hair over the hair color. It does not pull the henna out and does not cause any damage to the henna at all. I dry my hair on a daily bases as well as use a curling/flat iron. I do not get damaged and split ends from the regular abuse while I use this shampoo. After all of this abuse, the end result is still shiny, soft hair. It is so moisturizing, I can sometimes go for 3 days without using conditioner. This is a remarkable triumph for me because it is the only shampoo that I have ever used that I didn't need a daily conditioner (including the Redken So Long).

At this point, I have been using the All Soft shampoo and conditioner for about 1 year and my hair is healthier than it's been since I stopped using the So Long shampoo. I would definitely recommend this shampoo to anyone, especially with regularly abused or colored hair. I would also recommend it to anyone with sensitivities to soaps. I have very sensitive and dry skin and it does not cause any irritation to me at all. In fact, I have been known to bathe with it when my skin is exceptionally dry and it relieves a lot of the itching and dryness. The scent is similar to a light coconut smell, and is not perfumey at all. The shampoo is an extremely pale color of orange and it lathers so well, you will use a very tiny amount compared to other shampoos.

I purchase my shampoo from different places. I've found that at Trade Secrets, it is about $13 for the 10.1 fl. oz bottle. At CVS pharmacy, I paid about $9 for the same size. Since a quarter sized amount is enough to wash my shoulder length hair, the bottle lasts me about 6 months.

This product has also received the Editor's Choice award from Allure. The bottle is recyclable and the directions are basic; wet hair, lather, rinse and if contacts eyes, rinse with water. This product is not tested on animals.
