Red Robin was recommended to me by a friend who said it was a nice casual place, good for families. It is located right next to Hershey Park, where we were spending the day, so it was convienent.
The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was friendly. The prices were fair. Unfortuntely the service was awful! We were seated immediately but then forgotten about even though we were right in the middle where everybody walks by. After 10 minutes, we had to goto the hostess and request a waiter/waitress to come to our table. The table next to us, who came in after us, got waited on first!
When our waitress did finally show up, she wasn't too friendly. She wasn't rude, just didn't go beyond "I have to work here but I don't have to like it" attitude. We ordered appetizers that didn't show up until after our lunch was served. I ordered a Cobb salad with Bleu Cheese dressing, but it was served with some other dressing. I poured my dressing on because it did look like bleu cheese. After taking my first bite and realizing that it wasn't what I asked for, our waitress never even botherd asking if they could make me a new salad. She brought me the right dressing and walked away as I was scrapping the crap dressing off my salad so I could salvage the rest and eat my meal.
The only apology we received was from the hostess who said there was a mixup with who should serve us, but I would have expected some type of compensation for our wait. Any other restaurant we have gone to and had similar experience, they have always offered some type of compensation.
Although the food was good, I will not be visiting said restaurant again or recomend it to my friends who have children. Any parent knows that it is hard enough to bring kids to a restaurant and have them behave the whole time. But when your kids are hungry and they are waiting forever for their drinks and food to come it adds another unwanted dimension.
