Most HelpfulI have a bit of trouble with the "slow-ness" of Zaar's web pages to load, so I tend not to go there first when in need of a recipe. That aside, it's a great site, with loads of tried and true recipes, and really sweet, enthusiastic members.
Well worth being a part of. Membership is free, and you can also...

Most HelpfulFor years I enjoyed the Recipezaar site - both for its recipes and for its forums. However, lately the site has gone to he\\ in a handbasket!
Recipes: There are multiples of the same recipe - the wording may differ here and there, but they are essentially the same recipes. Changing "1 cup" of water...
read full review »Recipezaar is run by dictators who ban you for absolutely no reason. Forum hosts bully other members and get away with it. Rules are not applied equally. If you are friends with certain forum hosts, you get away with anything and everything. Kathy is a powertripper. The customer service for paying members is horrible.
Recipezaar has been promising fixes for bug for over a year. They upgrade the site last year on Valentines day and broke most of the features. They have fixed very few. The home page is a collection of interesting information that draws you in to the fun that is Zaar. Quick links to newly added recipes, featured chefs, featured recipes and hot topics greet you from the start, along with a search bar that is nothing short of amazing. This page made me want to delve right in to start searching out new recipes and adding my own.
The nitty gritty
Recently aquired by Food Network, this site has a little bit of everything for anyone who enjoys cooking at all. There are over 200,000 recipes submitted by everyday people that you can peruse with...
read full review »Recipe Zaar is where I get 80% of my recipes now. It is so easy to come to the computer, type in a recipe type or ingredient and get dozens of recipes for that particular item. The recipes are rated, so you know if they are good (or, if you are being adventurous, you can take your chances and make something that hasn't been rated yet).
The people who rate the recipes also give hints on different ways to make the recipe or, if it is a meat dish, what they served with it. I made a pie crust one day and the original recipe called for cider vinegar, which I didn't have. I remembered reading...
