Razor Spark Scooter —

Razor Spark Scooter

I had no idea what  my 6 year old daughter was talking about when she came home from a birthday party a few weeks ago ranting and raving about a Spark Scooter. Our conversation went like this:

6 year old: MOM, I HAVE to have a Razor Spark Scooter!!

Mom: A what?

6 year old: (gasping for air) A Razor Spark Scooter, Rylan got one for her birthday and it's the coolest thing ever, when you ride it and use the breaks it sparks all over and when you run out you can buy more sparky thingys at Toys R Us and I WANT one NOW please!!!!

Mom: Calm down Barooka. Any mobile toy that sends off sparks doesn't sound too safe to me.  I haven't even heard of this Spark Scooter, I need to research it online first.

6 year old: Mom please, hurry. I want one so bad!!!!

Thus began my research on a Razor Spark Scooter.  We have a regular Razor Scooter in the garage that never gets used, so the idea of spending money on another high priced toy to sit and collect dust didn't sound good to me.

Upon searching on Toyrus.com and thus talking to Rylan's Mom, I learned that the Razor Spark Scooter is the "new" toy for the summer and is "all the rage".

Basically, the Razor Spark Scooter is a regular Razor Scooter with a spark bar at the break.  When applied, the scooter lets off sparks on the ground and subsequently, a little black mark that washes away (remember skid marking as a kid?).  That's it.  That's a Razor Spark Scooter.

What's all the hype about?  Apparently the sparks it lets off when you hit the spark brake. I checked it out myself and saw my daughter try out Rylan's and wasn't impressed, but all the neighbor kids sure are!

A few other facts about the Razor Spark Scooter are:

  • It has adjustable handlebars.  It will grow with your child. For those bigger kids who like to do crazy tricks, it gets small too!
  • It folds up for easy storage.  True to the other Razor Scooters, the Razor Spark Scooter folds up for easy storage.
  • It only weight 5 pounds.  The Razor Scooter only weighs 5 pounds.  When folded up, makes it easy to carry around or slip into a backpack.
  • For ages 8 and up.  My daughter is 6 years old and she and her friends can handle the Razor Spark Scooter just fine.  The only difference between the regular scooter and the spark scooter is that when you stop, you get sparks!

So Rylan has been a very good friend to my daughter and has shared her Razor Spark Scooter quite often.  The "rage" hasn't died down yet.  So, under my bed wrapped in High School Musical wrapping paper is my daughter's very own Razor Spark Scooter awaiting her birthday!!

Her name is Riley but on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the little girl who wants everything NOW's name was Barooka. :)

Awe, you're so sweet! Is your daughter's name Barooka or was that a type-o or nickname. I thought maybe it was supposed to be Brooke but then again, unique is good :+)
